While not as common as other vitamins in soap making, Vitamin B, specifically B1 (thiamine), B3 (niacinamide), and B5 (panthenol), can offer several benefits when added to soap:
Skin hydration: Vitamin B5 is known for its hydrating properties, which can help moisturize the skin and improve its texture.
Anti-aging effects: Vitamin B3 has been shown to promote collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making it a popular ingredient in anti-aging products.
Improved skin barrier function: Vitamin B1 can help strengthen the skin barrier, which may result in better protection against environmental factors and reduced moisture loss.
Soothing effects: Some forms of Vitamin B, like niacinamide, can have a calming effect on the skin and help reduce redness and irritation.
Keep in mind that, like other vitamins, the potency of Vitamin B in soap may be reduced compared to leave-on products due to the rinse-off nature of soap. However, incorporating Vitamin B into soap can still provide mild benefits and contribute to a more nourishing cleansing experience.
