Amsterdam Hair Extensions

Length, volume added using tape extensions. We also deepened her blonde by adding a root shadow, low lights and toner to give her a more low maintenance softer grow out. Love me some dimension! Tape extensions have a salon maintenance time of 6-9 weeks and are a great option for fine or fragile hair. So many of my clients have used this method to grow out their own hair.

Color correction and extension transformation. “Little” changes can make a BIG difference. This transformation is all about the power of balance. She’s still a blonde, just a more modern and flattering blonde, the length is the same, but with extensions we were able to fill in the areas that don’t grow as fast/break. This process took 7 hours.

•rinse, dry hair
•
•Highlight ALL hair, back to back babylights around the face frame, and babylights through the part line/crown of head. Foilayage the underneath part of the head and between all babylights. Pull foils and paint all the ends to merry and refresh.

• apply demi color between babylights on the crown and smudge to blur previous stripey highlight demarcation.
•
• rinse
•
• apply first toner at the chair, then rinse and apply second toner at the bowl.
•
• for 10 minutes
•
•Shampoo with clarifying shampoo 2 times or until roots are squeaky.
•
•Blow dry hair till 100% dry
•
•Install 4 tape extensions on each side of the head to fill in and match/balance the weight of the back.

•Cut hair and hair extensions
•
•Style, and Voila!

Picking the right method of extensions is so important. Not all methods will be the best fit for each individual persons needs. My client had been getting i-tip/microbead extensions and was just not getting the volume from them that is possible with tape extensions. I put in 20 pieces of tape extensions and was able to give her so much more volume, and with an even better weight distribution so it will be super gentle on her natural hair. Va Va Voom! How much are we living for this color and extension transformation?! First I colored her hair using a combination of foilayage and babylights, followed by a root shadow and two toners. Drop dead gorgeous tape-in transformation using extensions. 30 complete pieces/sandwiches were installed to create this look. The shorter and more blunt the hair is the begin with, the more hair will be needed to blend away the original length.
