£22 ($50 NZD) club sandwich 😳 Totally overpriced but it was all I could have that could be made gluten free at The Distillery at The Hilton Hotel where we stayed in London

My wish came true! I got to eat a gluten free McDonald's (double) cheeseburger in Spain …. it tasted just like I remember 😋🍔 This was at Palma de Mallorca airport (international departures gate A before passport control) 🛫

So many gluten free things at the buffet dinner at our hotel in Mallorca (all dishes had allergen labels - if it contained gluten there was a 🌾 sign). I had a ‘surf & turf’ inspired dinner with steak, fish, mussels, fries & salad. And panna cotta & gelato for dessert 🍨

I found this Bimbo España sin gluten bread at the small store by our hotel and made myself a ham sandwich for lunch with some crisps and a Starbucks caramel macchiato 🥪

Deià is an absolute must visit town up in the mountains in Mallorca. We found an absolute gem of a restaurant called Trattoria Italiana with the most amazing views from the balcony across to the mountains above and the cobbled street below. I had the calamari to start and prawn & saffron risotto for my main. Also all of their pasta dishes can be made gluten free. You definitely need to pre-book this restaurant online as it’s very popular!

There is a huge selection of gluten free options at the buffet breakfast at Hotel Marina Sóller Wellness & Spa in Mallorca, Spain. All allergens are well marked with symbols. My favourite things were the omelettes, cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit & freshly squeezed orange juice 🍊

Emirates business class lounge in Concourse A in Dubai International Airport is massive! Direct access to all the gates and it’s spread out throughout the top of the terminal. I had a shower (perfect after a 17 hour fight!) then found the Snack Bar. Nothing labelled gluten free but then I saw the sign to ask about gluten free options! Of course more Moët was required before the 7 hour flight to Barcelona 🍾 ✈️

Gluten free meals flying Business Class on Emirates Auckland to Dubai ✈️ Moët on tap that’s me behind the bar🥂The only thing that could be improved is to have the bread rolls, fruit bread and muffin heated up rather than being freezing cold. Oh and it would be nice to have a gf menu or be told what meal you were getting served like the other passengers 🍽️
Dinner
- Entree: smoked salmon with salad and rolls
- Main: chicken on a delicious risotto with veggies
- Dessert: cheesecake with passionfruit coulis
Light Snack
- Warm pocket thing (a mystery filling I couldn’t tell what it was) & fruit
Breakfast
- Scrambled eggs, sausages, spinach & veggies and fruit bread, muffin, yoghurt & fruit

Emirates lounge in Auckland International Airport. Lots of tasty labelled gluten free options, also the chef will also prepare celiac safe options if you ask the very friendly staff. And Moët was a great way to start the long trip to Spain 🥂
