One of my favourite things about being a Monaco mentor is getting to know the person behind the nails.

Turns out my fabulous Monaco student Ariana and I share more than a love of nails – we also share a weakness for books and spontaneous afternoon adventures. Our wee mochi ice-cream date ended up being a full-blown tour complete with new nail goodies, quirky little bookshops and one VERY funky bead store. A very well-rounded student catch-up, if you ask me 📚🍵💅🏽

Discovering Ariana could lead me straight to Pixie Nail Supplies was an added bonus – that left me with new Gel-X supplies and a dangerous cat-eye obsession. We both happen to be working through Monaco’s Gel-X module at the moment, so more tips felt like a very sensible purchase. Practically homework, really 😌

One super cute second-hand bookstore we went exploring in just happened to have Ariana’s favourite book of all time (which obviously came home with me). The owner was an absolute character who shared his bookshop tales with us and left us positively cackling. And then there was the undisclosed tenant under that mug…whom I did not feel inclined to become personally acquainted with. I’m all for making new friends, but I do have my limits 😂
