As the Mutya ng Turismo of our barangay, I’ve learned that a single seed can represent so much more than a plant, it can symbolize hope, growth, and the future we want to build for Sibagat. 🌱💚 Planting trees may seem simple, but it is one of the most powerful ways we can show love for our home and take action for the environment we all share.

To the youth, I hope this reminds you that creating change doesn’t require grand gestures. It starts with small acts done with genuine care. When we plant a seed, we’re not just growing a tree, we’re nurturing a cleaner air, safer spaces, and a stronger community. Together, let’s keep building a greener and sustainable Sibagat, one seed of hope at a time. 🌿

Punla (seed) is an annual denomination-wide climate action (not limited to tree planting) of Filipino Katoliko in the month of November in the time of National Environmental Awareness Month and Mindanao Week of Peace celebrations.

Punla is the response of the Filipino Katoliko church to the humanity's race against the intensifying climate crisis as Stewards of the creation. An approach to invite among us (young and old) making care for creation as part of our social norms again.

The initiative is open to all people regardless of faith, tribes or social affiliations.

Let us build a healthy, safe and sustainable future today, everyday.

: Spiritual and Ethical Nurturing of Nature

We express our gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Sibagat thru the representation of the Green Lady in town, Vice Mayor Maria Liza Lamanilao-Evangelista who joined PUNLA 2025.

The Municipal Agriculture Office supported the said climate action by providing fruit tree seedlings (Durian, Rambutan, Jackfruit).

Several civic organizations and government institutions also joined the tree planting and growing last November 30 at Mr and Mrs Ivylyn and Marlon D**a farm located in Purok 5, Villangit, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.

‎Ang reforestation dili lang mahitungod sa pagtanom ug mga kahoy; mahitungod kini sa pagpasig-uli sa tibuok nga ekosistema. Kung magtanom kita og endemic nga mga espisye (sama sa narra, lauan, o dao), makahimo kita og mga puy-anan alang sa nameligrong ihalas nga mga mananap, mapugngan ang pagbanlas sa yuta sa mga lugar nga daling mabaha, ug motabang sa pagsuyop sa carbon dioxide gikan sa atmospera aron makigbatok sa kausaban sa klima. Direkta usab kini nga nakabenepisyo sa mga tawo: ang kalasangan naghatag ug limpyo nga tubig, pagkaon, ug hilaw nga materyales alang sa gagmay nga mga mag-uuma ug mga lumad nga grupo nga dugay na nga mga tinugyanan niini nga mga yuta.

Punla means "seeds" It's an invitation to plant a seed of change right where you are living now.
As we experienced unpredictable disasters which leads to alarming effects to our community. We must listen to what the world trying to tell us, a lessons that teach everyone of us to turn our fears into courageous action by taking good care of our kinaiyahan!

Climate change is already here! We must take an action! Not just for ourselves today but to what comes in the future!

Malipayon kita nga misalmot sa gipahigayon nga unang UGMAD: Young Organics Summit kaniadtong Nobyembre 28 ngadto sa Barangay San Vicente Covered Court.
