The Authenticity Institute by Dr. Katrina Gisbert Tay
Authentic Leadership. Authentic Wellness. Great leadership stems from trust, and trust begins where authenticity prevails.
At the Authenticity Institute, we develop the leaders of tomorrow –leaders who lead authentically, who walk the talk.
We just wrapped Season 1 of Unpolished Wisdom!
And I’m stopping to actually say that. Because we don’t do this enough — pause and acknowledge what we’ve built before running toward what’s next.
This one matters to me.
When I started this, I didn’t know what I was making. I just knew the conversations needed to happen. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d learn — not just from the guests, but about myself. Every interview held up a mirror I wasn’t always ready for.
That’s the thing about honest conversations. They have a way of finding you too.
Season 2 is coming. And I’m more ready for it than I’ve ever been.
But first — what’s a conversation you need somebody to start?
Leave it in the comments. I’m reading every one.

We avoid the hard conversations because we think they’re about conflict. They’re not.
What if they’re actually the ones with the power to deepen everything?
has spent his career helping leaders have the conversations they’ve been quietly avoiding.
Then he had to have them himself.
Swipe through — these are the six things from our conversation that I’m still sitting with.
Save this. Share it with someone who needs it.

There are no difficult conversations.
There are just conversations you don’t want to have.
and I say this a lot at TWP — and we’ve lived it. Every conversation we didn’t want to have has made our working relationship exponentially better.
In this clip, Marcus talks about something honest: how he used to hide behind a business partner who was happy to have those hard conversations. And when that person wasn’t there anymore, he had to step into it himself.
No comfort zone gets to stay comfortable forever if you actually want to grow.

The difference between change and range changed how I think about identity.
Season 1 Finale of — and there’s no one I’d rather close this season with.My friend and mentor Marcus Marsden built a career helping leaders ask the hard questions.
Then life asked them of him.
In 2019, he found himself leading a company he never planned on running. Four months later, COVID shut the world down.
In this conversation, Marcus gets honest about what happens when crisis strips away your comfort zone entirely. Why going against his gut became one of his greatest leadership tools. And the conversations most leaders avoid but desperately need to have.
But the thing that stayed with me long after we stopped recording?
The difference between change and range — and why expanding who you are doesn’t mean losing who you’ve been.

Life lessons from Lyla, my 4-legged life coach 🐾
Lyla doesn’t bark at everyone for attention. She doesn’t perform. She simply sits at the dining table — on her hind legs, chin up, eyes forward — and waits. Not for just anyone. For her dad. The weakest link. The one guaranteed to cave.
Lesson 1: Stop trying so hard with everyone. Find your person and hold eye contact until they break.
She has a brother, Russo, a bichon frise. She did not ask for him. She has made her feelings abundantly clear. And yet — if he gets left outside? She’s the first to sound the alarm. If anyone comes for him? She forgets she’s smaller than him.
Lesson 2: You don’t have to like your people to protect your people. That’s just loyalty doing its thing.
Unless there’s food. Then it’s every dog for herself.
Lesson 3: Even the most loyal relationships have their limits. Know yours.
Honestly, I didn’t know I needed a tiny fluffy philosopher in my life. But here we are, Lyla. Here we are. 🥹

What a weekend.
Grateful to .labs .tin for the opportunity to do the work I love most — in a room full of humans willing to go there.
We looked at how the past shows up in the present. We met our inner child. We let the body release what it’s been holding. And somewhere between the deep work and the laughter, real connections and friendships were made.
This is what happens when people stop performing and start being honest. Magic. ✨
Thank you to everyone who showed up — not just to the retreat, but to themselves. .dianneflorendo

What if the stage you worked so hard to reach... isn’t actually yours?
We spend years building a life that looks like we’ve “succeeded” from the outside. But what happens when the applause starts to bring emptiness?
Siva Shankar Jayaraj’s story began in a kampong in Malacca. A zinc-roof house. No address. One room. By the time he realized he was “poor,” he was already standing on some of the biggest corporate stages in the region.
Then came the question that surfaces in the quiet: “Was it me? Or was I just riding a very well-branded rocket?”
In this episode, we don’t look for easy answers. We sit with the “unpolished” reality of:
→ The high cost of proving you belong.
→ Why “walking away” from success can be the most honest thing you’ll ever do.
→ The “stacking of knowledge” and how being a generalist is a superpower in a specialized world.
→ And why “There is no finish line” isn’t just a slogan on his arm—it’s a lived truth.
This conversation is for anyone navigating the “messy middle” of an identity shift. It’s for the ones who have reached the top, only to realize they were climbing the wrong mountain.
