Paan has been prohibited in multiple countries, including the UAE. While it is true that the betel leaf is detrimental to health, one might assume that this is the sole reason behind the ban.
However, in secretive discussions, it has been revealed that the real motive for the prohibition is the unsightly stains it leaves, which detract from the overall aesthetics of a city.
It is essential to impart awareness to the public regarding the importance of not spitting and causing repulsive, lasting marks. After all, should we not strive to educate ourselves and behave in a manner that benefits everyone?
