Yes — shaving is absolutely fine between sessions. As long as we have at least 2mm of hair present for your appointment. Trimming with scissors is preferred but if you need to shaving is fine🌱
What we want you to avoid is plucking or waxing, because that removes the hair from the follicle, makes it harder to treat properly and can even stimulate more hair growth! 😌
If you’re not sure what to do before your appointment, just ask us.
✅ Permanent hair removal
Unlike temporary methods (shaving, waxing, threading), electrolysis destroys the hair follicle using an electric current. Once a follicle is fully treated, it won’t grow hair again⚠️ Things to keep in mind
• Requires multiple sessions (hair grows in cycles)
• Can be time-consuming for large areas
• Slight discomfort (like a tiny sting)
• Should be done by a trained professional

Hirsutism is a condition in women characterized by excess, coarse, dark hair growth in areas where men typically grow hair, such as the face, chest, abdomen, and back.
⸻
🔎 Why Does It Happen?
Hirsutism is usually caused by increased male hormones (androgens) or increased sensitivity of hair follicles to these hormones

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It works by inserting a very fine probe into the hair follicle and using electrical energy to destroy the follicle’s growth cells so the hair cannot grow back.
⸻
How It Works
1. A sterile probe is inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle.
2. A small electrical current (heat or chemical reaction) destroys the follicle.
3. The treated hair is removed with tweezers.
4. Over multiple sessions, each follicle is permanently disabled.
Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are required to treat all hairs effectively.
