Female Wagler's Pit Viper (Tropidolaemus wagleri), which is a venomous species commonly found in Singapore.
Key characteristics of this snake include:
Appearance: Adult females have a distinct black body with yellow or greenish-white bands and a broadly triangular-shaped head. This coloration is a form of sexual dimorphism, as males have a different appearance, typically being smaller and green.
Habitat: It is a semi-arboreal and nocturnal snake found in the forests of Singapore, particularly in areas like the Central Catchment Nature Reserves and Pulau Tekong.
Venom: The snake is venomous, possessing neurotoxins called waglerins in its venom. However, they are generally considered to be rather passive, ambush predators that do not actively seek out humans.

King cobra 🐍
The king cobra is the world’s longest venomous snake, found in forests across South and Southeast Asia. It mainly eats other snakes and is known for its intelligence and defensive behavior. Unlike most snakes, it builds and guards nests for its eggs. Its venom is delivered in large amounts and can be deadly, but king cobras usually avoid humans and attack only when threatened.

Blue-eared Kingfisher (Alcedo meninting), and it is an uncommon resident in Singapore.
Appearance: This is a small, vibrantly colored bird known for its distinctive blue ear coverts (feathers covering the ears), which gives it its name. It features a dark blue back, wings, and tail, contrasted by a bright orange-chestnut breast and belly.
Habitat in Singapore: Unlike the more common Common Kingfisher which prefers open habitats, the shy Blue-eared Kingfisher prefers forested areas, shaded creeks, and clear streams.
Locations: Sightings have been recorded in various locations across Singapore, including the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Hindhede Quarry, and the Central Catchment Forest.
