Many people today see marriage as a contract. They will say, "Yes, I will marry you... as long as you are financially strong enough to take care of me and my family."
But marriage is a covenant, not a contract. 😊
God sees marriage as a covenant. That's why when two people make a promise—"I do"—before God and man, they are no longer two. Matthew 19:6 says they are now one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.
The Difference:
· A contract is entered into by two people. A covenant is entered into before God.
· A contract is based on feelings. A covenant is based on faithfulness.
· A contract can be broken when things get hard. A covenant fights through the hard times.
My Advice:
To the married couples:
Always remember that your marriage isn't just between you and your partner. It's between you, your spouse, and God. You didn't just sign a paper. You made a vow before the Creator of the universe. So no matter what you are going through—take it to the Lord in prayer. 🙏
To those in committed relationships:
Build toward a covenant, not just a big wedding. There's a difference. A wedding is one day. A covenant is forever. So prepare your heart for forever.
To the singles who are ready:
Don't look for someone who just wants to plan a big wedding. Look for someone who wants to honor God's covenant. Someone who understands that marriage is a reflection of Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:31-32).
To the singles who aren't ready:
Good. Because a covenant isn't something you walk into casually. Let God prepare you for the weight and beauty of forever.
If you are in a complicated relationship:
Take note: If they don't understand God's covenant, they may not understand the foundation of a godly marriage. Protect your heart and wait for someone who runs toward commitment.
If your heart is broken:
Don't worry. 😉 Someone may have broken their covenant with you, but God never breaks His. He is the Covenant Keeper.
Deuteronomy 7:9 says, "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations."
Let's Pray:
Lord, please help us understand that love isn't a contract we can cancel when it's hard. It's a covenant we honor because You first honored us. Teach us to be covenant keepers. Amen.
Question: What does "covenant" mean to you in your relationship?

For your relationship to flourish you must understand the Love Languages.
I'm going to share 5 with you.
Let's pray first.
Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of love and relationship. Your Word teaches us that love is patient and kind. Today, we ask for wisdom to understand not just how we love, but how the people we care about need to be loved. Open our eyes to see the "love languages" of our spouses, friends, and families. Give us the humility to step out of our own comfort zones and speak love in a way they can truly hear. Heal the brokenhearted and guide the single hearts seeking Your will. May our relationships reflect Your unconditional love for us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Here's something that saved me and my wife relationship and marriage: Learning how the other person receives love.
You might be saying "I love you" in your language. But are they hearing it in theirs?
"Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves."
Romans 12:10
The 5 Love Languages You must learn to save your relationship and marriage:
1. 💝 Words of Affirmation: They need to hear "I love you," "I'm proud of you," "You're beautiful." The word of God says "The tongue has the power of life and death." Proverbs 18:21. So speak the language always to keep your relationship healthy 🥰
2. 💝 Acts of Service: people feel loved when you help. Do the dishes. Fix the thing. Take something off their plate. Bible says "Serve one another humbly in love." Galatians 5:13
3. 💝 Receiving Gifts: people feel loved when you give thoughtful presents. It doesn't have to be expensive. Just intentional. The Bible says "Every good and perfect gift is from above." James 1:17
4. 💝 Quality Time: They need your undivided attention. Put your Phone down. Eyes on them. Bible says "Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10. Be still with them too.
5. 💝 Physical Touch: Hug them. Hand-holding. Cuddles. Physical closeness. Bible says "Greet one another with a holy kiss." Romans 16:16
If you are in a committed relationship:
Learn your spouse's language. Speak it. Even if it's not your natural way. Love is learning.
To the singles:
Pay attention to how potential partners give and receive love. It reveals everything.
To the heartbroken:
Learn your own love language. Learn to love yourself the way you need.
If you are in a complicated relationship:
If they won't learn to love you in your language, they're not trying.
What's your love language?

The foundation of any true love is prayer.
Pray first. Before you say yes. Before you ask someone to love you. Before you give your heart away.
My wife and I thank God that we started our relationship with prayer. Looking back, we now believe what the Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Always start with prayer before dating.
Not after you're already emotionally invested. Not when things get hard. Not when you're trying to fix a relationship that was never blessed. Before. Way before.
Here's what I know now: When you pray before you enter a relationship, you invite God into the selection process. He knows who is meant for you better than your own heart does.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." — Philippians 4:6
The promise? If you seek God first, you will not end up with the wrong person. Not because perfect people exist (they don't). But because God will close doors that lead to pain and open doors that lead to purpose.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." — Psalm 32:8
To the singles:
Before you swipe right, before you say "yes," before you give your heart away—pray. Ask God:
• Is this person walking toward You or away from You?
• Will this relationship honor You?
• Am I ready to love like Christ loves the church?
If you are in a committed relationship:
Is prayer the center of your relationship or just an afterthought?
"Pray without ceasing." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Start praying together. Even if it's awkward. Even if you don't have the words. God honors the effort.
If your heart is broken:
Bring it to God. Every tear. Every "why."
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
He can handle your questions.
If you are in a complicated relationship:
Pray for clarity.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God." — James 1:5
Start with prayer. Everything else follows.
🙏 Father, guide every heart reading this. Close the wrong doors. Open the right ones. And let every relationship be built on You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Drop a 🙏 if you're committing to pray before you act!
