Lupus is a complex and poorly understood condition that affects many different parts of the body.

Its symptoms range from mild to life-threatening.

Many people have this condition for a long time without knowing before they get a sudden flare-up.

The symptoms include extreme tiredness, rashes (especially on the face, wrists and hands), joint pain and swelling.

Even mild cases can be distressing and have a big impact on quality of life.

There are several celebrities who have brought awareness to lupus. Here are a few!

Selena Gomez: The pop star has been open about her lupus diagnosis and has used her platform to raise awareness and funds for research.

Lady Gaga: The singer revealed in 2017 that she has lupus and has since spoken about her struggles with the disease and how it has affected her career.

Toni Braxton: The R&B singer was diagnosed with lupus in 2008 and has been an advocate for lupus awareness ever since. She has also written a memoir about her experiences with the disease.
