Carrot & Papaya Detan Soap (Cold Process)
Best For: Dark patches, sun-exposed skin, dull complexion
Oils
400g Olive Oil
300g Coconut Oil
200g Palm Oil
100g Shea Butter
Total Oils: 1000g
Lye Solution
138g Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH)
280g Distilled Water
Additives
2 tbsp Carrot Powder
2 tbsp Papaya Powder
1 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
15g Sweet Orange Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil
Instructions
Wear gloves and safety goggles.
Slowly add the sodium hydroxide to the distilled water and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool to 38–43°C.
Melt and combine all oils. Allow them to cool to 38–43°C.
Pour the lye solution into the oils and blend to light trace.
Mix the carrot powder and papaya powder with a little oil to form a smooth slurry.
Add the carrot mixture, papaya mixture, honey, vitamin E oil, and fragrance oil.
Blend gently to medium trace.
Pour into a mold and tap to remove air bubbles.
Insulate and leave for 24–48 hours.
Unmold and cut into bars.
Cure for 4–6 weeks before use.
