I’ve had lots of people ask why I’m doing a petition to invite spa castle to amarillo so I thought I could explain. I have wanted a korean style spa in amarillo for years! they are completely unlike anything we have here currently I know if i can get people talking about it enough we’ll be one step closer to having this awesome experience here.

so what makes korean style spas different?

Amenity based vs service based

western spas (the kind we do have in town) are service based. you book an appointment for a service and then when you come to the spa you are treated like royalty and given a very luxurious treatment that helps you either look or feel your best. this may take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours before you leave feeling refreshed

korean style spas are amenity based. you pay a fee for admission when you get there, no appointment necessary. once there you stay as long as you like within the business hours usually 10am to 10pm (they stay open late like this for people who may want to visit after work) and while there you enjoy the saunas, hot tubs, salt room, cold plunges, hydrotherapy jets, and infrared light therapy all you want at your own pace and on your own schedule. the community spaces are perfect places to meet up and socialize and if you get hungry there is food and drinks for sale.

this is the core difference between the two spa styles and both excell in different ways. western spas are great for beauty treatments and solo getaways while korean spas are better for self care stays where you meet or bring friends and family to relax together as a community

just a reminder of the different approaches to relaxation around the world! all the spa’s in amarillo provide wonderful treatments and services but Korean style spa’s like the once’s i’d like to invite to town are not service based like these. korean style spa’s are amenity based and self service. you pay one fee for entry and then have free access all day to enjoy the saunas, hot tubs, massage water jets, cold plunges and lounges. water is free and available in lots of places to stay hydrated even if you choose not to purchase food or snacks.!

Spa Castle 🏰 🧖‍♀️ this is just the first floor. Hot water & tons of jets 🤤 Each one is specified in front of the pools for its purpose & how to use it. Second floor are several heated rooms with all different temperatures & purposes. Also a freezing cold room. Ray & I had a couples massage here which was great! In our gender lockers there are even more pools that are n**e only that have all different pool temperatures. 10/10 recommend if you find yourself in Dallas, Texas 🫶 p.s. the bar is located at the indoor pool & allows three drinks per wrist band 🍻

did you know korean spas offer dining while your there? because korean spas focus on extended visits usually lasting several hours they offer dining! drinks snacks and even full meals can be enjoyed while you relax unwind and enjoy the community experience of saunas and hydrotherapy pools! spa castle specifically offers a full bar as well as sushi, korean barbecue, ramen and even snow cones and ice cream treats. personally i believe there’s nothing better than coming out of the charcoal tower sauna and enjoying a snow cone on one of the recliners in the lounge!

today I spent my half day off Amarillo Public Library! I was in the crafter space using their 3d printer! while i waited for the printing i made these! little petition Zine’s to pass out! designed in google but printed folded cut and glued in the makers space at the downtown library!

I love a good hot soak! I am a forever fan of baths, swimming and anything that lets me relax in water so I wasn’t surprised at all when I read the health benefits of hot soaks. still it’s so hard to find someplace in town that allows me to soak. that’s why I want Spa castle to come to amarillo! they have multiple hot soaking tubs both indoor and outdoor and that’s not counting the bath area for those of you that get self conscious!

this feels so serendipitous! I know exactly what I want Amarillo add!
