That gap between knowing and changing is where most women get stuck. You've read the books and done the therapy. The understanding is there. What you can't seem to do is actually change.

People who call you strong stop asking if you're okay. They assume. That's the cost of holding it together for too long. The first thing we do in the work is put the performance down.
Tag the woman in your life everyone calls strong. She needs to read this.
The word the doctor used was "abnormalities." I was 16. That sentence started 25 years of holding it together. If your body has been on high alert since something split your life into a before and an after, you're not broken. You're protected. We can retrain it. The exhaustion is easy to explain away. You're busy. You're the one who gets it done.
Here's the part nobody sees. Underneath the doing is a quiet fear that the second you stop, everyone figures out you've been holding it together with tape and willpower this whole time.
So you don't stop. You keep proving and earning a worth that was never up for debate.
I lived in that loop for years and called it being responsible.
Doing more has never once made the fear quieter. The work is finding out who you are when you finally put the weight down.
