Don’t get me wrong, I love capturing proposals at the Biltmore, but it’s not the only place to get engaged in Asheville. A mountaintop bald can be perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, the terrace at the Grove Park Inn can be fun for gourmands, but I love downtown Asheville best. It is so classic and timeless with all the Art Deco architecture. And I would say this couple is timeless- man could he light her up! Not only did I enjoy meeting them, and then coming up with both fun and goofy photos- but when I was editing them I just kept finding myself smiling. Some couples you meet & it is so evident how they bring out great qualities in each other, and how they are each other’s best friend.

Ready for snow! And love! And winter weddings! Lake Tahoe is a magical place for elopements- thought this fun and playful family were very photogenic! Sidenote on second photo- look how gorgeous hottie wife is! Love how she paired the more hippie lace gown w/ a fur coat & sexy laced up high heeled boots (and yeah, killer balance- didn’t slip once in the snow!) turning the look into a more modern boho vibe. This couple is part of the community that runs, advocates & creates art for Burning Man every year & I think their creative, silly, & bold spirits really shine through.

So ready for the first snow!!! Winter weddings can be so dreamy, magical, & FUN. Lake Tahoe is an excellent backdrop for an elopement- it simply took my breath away. More than that though, it was such a pleasure to capture this family’s love and playfulness. Sidenote, isn’t a bombshell in that second photo! Mom’s can be hot too!

Love IS Love. For some time now I’ve been trying to figure out how to really express some deep feelings. There is so much turmoil, so much judgement, hatred, pain, pointing fingers- to what end? What can make these things better? Love. When we have friends, family, partners, co-workers around us who love us- we become the very best versions of ourselves. We find solutions, we treat others well, we are kinder to ourselves, we work harder- it goes on & on. I am so lucky to regularly get to see couples in love, choosing love, being love- it is beautiful, it moves me, it makes me feel hopeful about this world. It is an honor to photograph love- to create something that can instantly bring a fellow being back to that moment of love, of hope, of warmth & joy. It is so crucial that we create safe spaces for love to grow & flourish, within ourselves, for others, for our kids, for the future, for our furbabies & other animals, for this planet. Is there anything better than love? Thank you & your photos were some of my absolute favorites last year- you two just glow & I can’t wait to capture your wedding in a few months! 💙 🌈

Happy Birthday Draco, aka Dracostemus, aka Bird Boy (he makes bird sounds!) We didn’t even have you in our lives 6 months ago, but we can’t imagine it without you now busy. You’ve brought so much joy, laughter, destruction, cuddles, & so much more love to our lives. Keep chasing tail- maybe one day you’ll catch it. I’ll never forget your swagger when you caught your first mouse, or how excited we were to have a lap cat- even though you barely fit these days. I promise I will find the doorstop caps you’ve hidden so we can play fetch again, I know the leaves you tear off my plants to play fetch with don’t have that satisfying bounce. In return, please stop destroying my curtains. We love you! ❤️

Sometimes it’s all in the hands.

Which one??? The paradox of choice AKA choice overload is real! The more I learn about editing, the more options I have- and there are so many stunning options w/ such a breathtaking moment! Do I let those rich juicy sunset colors in, or do I emphasize the bride’s stunning coloring with a moody background edit? Side note, this couple really is perfectly matched. There vows were so moving & genuine, I was honored to be there & capture these moments! 😊

There are first steps, the first time you hold your child, a first kiss, a first date- they all illicit different emotions. A first look though- the first look at the person you know you want to spend the rest of your life with, the person who makes you feel lucky to know them, to call them your partner, the person who makes you bless your lucky stars you met them… I can’t describe in words the emotion contained in the first looks I’m blessed to see- so I’ll show you. 📸❤️……

Happy Halloween to everyone, especially my favorite witch Every year around this time she likes to post photos of what witches REALLY look like- aka, most everyone else. For those who celebrate Samhain, Dia de Mu***os, Day of the Dead- blessed be all during this sacred time! .

Who loves it when the bride “brings it”?! As in the fun! I have had some of the most enjoyable weddings this fall- the couples have been amazing- their guests & family have been fantastic & other wedding industry vendors have become like family. I freaking love my job! Thank you & Daniel for letting me be a part of your day!
