Where my moms at? I have a goal/challenge for you in this new year. Ready ……. Add in resistance training to your workouts!
How many of you already lift? If you are like I was, the answer would be never. But adding in some strengthening exercises or muscle-building cardio can be a game-changer.
Did you know that increases in strength and lean muscle will increase your metabolism, strengthen bones, decrease pain, and help you perform your normal daily activities with ease? Not to mention, who doesn’t like a nicely sculpted physique?
We lift heavy 3 days a week in the FASTer Way but also use weights in our HIIT workouts, working shoulders, legs, abs, you name it. It makes all the difference. So dust off those dumbbells, bands or whatever you have in the house that’s heavy (maybe your kid 😜) and change your health and fitness in 2022. Strong mamas unite!

We’re setting goals this January. Not a few dozen priorities, but one main goal we can really focus on and reach.
Some goals seem too big, unattainable, too hard, to … (you fill in the blank) but if you make one decision each day to move a little bit closer to that goal, you CAN achieve it!
So what’s your goal this new year?

First day of a new job comes with tons of emotions, nerves and insecurities. But I made it through and had a blast. I’m super excited about working with 2 incredible ATs and getting to know the athletes.
And on top of all of that, met the AT for the San Diego Padres, who also happens to be a Gator! Looking forward to tomorrow!

Had a great time in Baton Rouge visiting my oldest (not pictured because he was in the student section), seeing family, working on our little cottage and cheering on my Gators in Death Valley. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out the way we hoped, but it was fun listening to the fans around us - a combo of Ricky Bobby and the Water Boy!
See you in a few weeks!

Today is the day I’ve been dreading for several years now. Our sweet Henry (aka Nerns because Owen couldn’t say Henry) has left us. From the day we brought him home, he was well-mannered, sweet, and always happy. He lived an incredible 17 years (well passed his breed’s expected 10-12 years) and is hands down the best pet I’ve ever had. We’ll miss him terribly. 😢

Had an incredible couple of days at for an update and encouragement from .india (a ministry we have been investing in for several years).
Thankful to have a small part in changing lives living without hope. We learned that most children in India suffer from abuse, poverty, discrimination from the cast system, difficulty staying in school and health issues. Women are largely illiterate and struggle to better themselves. 40% of the population are day laborers - meaning they hope to be picked up to work, get paid at the end of the day, and use that money to buy food for the evening. Mission India has indigenous pastors and leaders teaching bible classes to kids, literacy (along with economics, hygiene and health, arithmetic) to men and women, and planting churches all over the country.
The hotel and spa grounds were beautiful, food was incredible, we made new friends, and even ran into the Denver Nuggets who were staying there too!

Happy National Son’s Day to the greatest kids a mom could hope for. They are sweet, funny, kind, talented, athletic, handsome - all the things. Love them so much!

During our HIIT workout today, asked ‘what’s your 1 goal for this week?’ It got me thinking - do I set goals? Or do I walk through my day, my week without really striving for something? Sometimes life is so busy, I feel like I don’t have time for goals!
She reminded me that you can always set a fitness or nutrition goal. I mean, we eat every day. So why not put some parameters on it and work toward that this week?
I think I felt like I don’t set goals because the things I started out working toward have become a lifestyle. But that doesn’t mean I can’t set new ones.
For the last few weeks, I’ve been eliminating sugar! That’s a big one, but because I’d done it before - not so bad!
If you need help setting goals, or just need someone to guide you and cheer you on toward the ones you’ve set but can’t seem to reach, join my next round of The FASTer Way starting Monday. We’ll teach you how to eat what you like without deprivation, give you short, effective workouts, a meal plan, strategies on maximizing fat loss, a community of like-minded people working toward the same goals, and me as your coach!
Check out the link in my bio or DM me. Let’s do it!

My VIP peeps have embarked on a 21 day sugar elimination challenge. That means - no alcohol, no artificial sweeteners (even the good ones like stevia), checking labels for sneaky sugars, no fruit with added sugar.
It’s quite an education, but we’ll be going into that candy filled month of October without a sugar addiction. Not to mention - we’re putting our program into high gear and burning fat better than ever before.
Natural sugar is fair game, so to satisfy the need for sweet, I’ve been munching on these babies. Add a few almonds and it’s a delicious snack! My other go-to is fresh watermelon. It’s never tasted so good!
Do you get that sweet craving, especially in the evening? Maybe you have a little sugar addiction! You can break it if you give yourself 3 weeks to get rid of it. Join us. We’re halfway through. Who wants to spend the next week and a half eliminating sugar? Message me for tips and tricks!

I don’t typically wear hats, but I ran in the house from a lunch date, changed my clothes, put on this hat, ran out the door and headed to my son’s high school.
As I put this hat on for my son’s football game, I started thinking about all of the hats I wear in a day. What hats do you wear in the course of the day? I start out being mom and driver, followed by coach, athletic trainer, wife, mom again, friend and then finish the day taking them all.
All of them are important, enjoyable, and fulfilling, but sometimes the mere shuffle of them is overwhelming. And I think we as women take on some hats because we want to, but don’t always have the time to.
My advice for us, and me, is to lean into rest and recovery days. Build in time to recharge, relax, and practice some self care. We take care of so many, wearing so many hats, that we forget that if we don’t care for ourselves, those hats can get too heavy.
Do you build in rest time? What do you do to care for yourself? Do you have a hat with your name on it?
