Nobody tells you postpartum can feel like grief and joy in the same breath. The 3am feed where you’re crying and don’t know why. The body that doesn’t feel like yours yet. The silence when you needed someone to just ask “are you okay?”

We’ve sat with mamas in that exact season, and let us tell you- there are some moments in this season that it feels like prayer is the only thing that works.

God didn’t choose you by accident. He equipped you for this before you ever doubted yourself. 🙏🏾

Swipe for the words to hold onto when the days feel long. Save this for the mama who needs it. 🌸

Thirty-nine. 🤍

Today, I celebrate another year of life, but even more than that… I celebrate purpose.

If you had told me years ago that my life would look like this—walking with families through some of the most sacred moments they’ll ever experience, building an incredible team, advocating for families, teaching the next generation of doulas, and watching God use my own story to bring hope to others—I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

This year wasn’t easy.

Thirty-eight refined me.

It stretched me. It humbled me. It required courage I didn’t know I had. There were moments that challenged my heart, my faith, and this calling. But what the enemy meant to discourage me, God used to position me. Some of the hardest circumstances I walked through became the very doors that only He could open.

And for that… I’m grateful.

Grateful for every family that has trusted us with their pregnancies, births, losses, postpartum journeys, and stories.

Grateful for the incredible team I get to lock arms with every single day.

Grateful for every student who has said yes to this work.

Grateful for every baby’s first cry, every mother’s first breath after birth, every father who found his confidence, and every reminder that birth still belongs to God.

I’m walking into this year with open hands, a grateful heart, and great expectation. If He’s done all of this in 38… I can’t wait to see what He does with 39.

To God be all the glory.

And to every family that’s allowed me into your story… thank you. It is one of the greatest honors of my life.

Here’s to another year of serving, building, believing, and watching God grow this beautiful vision only He could have given. 💕

They’ll warn you about going past your due date all day. Ask them about Pitocin, AROM, induction risks — watch the energy change.

Informed consent isn’t optional. Ask before you’re on the clock.
That’s advocacy in real time. 🌸

We’ve stood between a mama and a provider mid-exam because consent wasn’t given. Watched treatment used as leverage and said not on our watch. Had security called on us for simply not backing down.

“Bodyguard” isn’t the word we’d pick. But if that’s what it takes for you to birth on YOUR terms? We’ll wear it. 🛡️

Your body already knows what to do. We just make sure everyone else in the room remembers it too.

You don’t birth alone. 🌸

POV: You prayed for help and God sent a whole team. ✨

I couldn’t have put this group together if I tried. God handpicked every single one of them, and I’m so grateful to do work we love alongside these women who care so deeply for families.

A little appreciation post for the dream team. 🤍

Running this back as your friendly reminder:

You prayed… but you didn’t prepare.

You trusted… but you didn’t educate yourself.

You showed up hoping for the best in a system never designed to trust your body or the birth process.

And then we call the outcome “God’s will” instead of telling the truth:

👉🏽 We weren’t equipped.

👉🏽 We didn’t advocate.

👉🏽 We didn’t understand the system we were entering.

God gave you a body that knows how to labor— but He also gave you a mind to learn and discern.

This is sacred work. Show up like it is.

I said what I said.

Postpartum is sacred.
Tender. Heavy. Beautiful. Stretching. Holy. 🤍

And sometimes… the very women who just carried life into the world are left feeling unseen while they quietly carry exhaustion, fear, anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, and the weight of caring for everyone else.

This is your reminder that postpartum mothers don’t just need diapers and casseroles. They need covering. They need support. They need community. They need someone to ask, “How are you doing?”

So today, we pray for the mothers.
For strength when they feel weak.
For rest in the middle of the chaos.
For healing in body, mind, and spirit.
For joy to find them again.
For God to meet them in the quiet hours of the night with peace. 🫶🏽

If you’re in postpartum right now… this prayer is for you.
And if you know a postpartum mama, send this to her. She deserves to feel held too. ✨

If the standard for maternity care is simply survival… the bar is in hell.

The phrase “healthy mom, healthy baby is all that matters” sounds harmless… until you realize how often it’s used to justify trauma, coercion, and the complete dismissal of women in birth.

Because apparently if she and the baby survived, we’re supposed to ignore everything else?

Ignore the mother who left birth violated.
Ignore the woman who repeatedly said no.
Ignore the manipulation, fear tactics, unnecessary interventions, and lack of consent.
Ignore the trauma she now has to carry while caring for a newborn.

No.

Yes—we want healthy outcomes. Absolutely.
But women are not incubators. They are human beings.

Her body matters.
Her voice matters.
Her autonomy matters.
Her healing matters.
Her mental health matters.
Her support system matters.
Her birth story matters.

A healthy baby should NEVER require a broken mother.

Women deserve safety AND dignity.
Evidence-based care AND informed consent.
Truth WITHOUT fear tactics.

Survival is the bare minimum. We’re raising the standard. 🔥
