There are many layers and facets that make up USWD. Phase I began in 2006, when Makala Fields created a collaged shirt representing Black love and Black families. Love for her people, art and imagery coupled with an overwhelming response from the community, helped give birth to Unspoken Word Designs. She chose “Unspoken Word” because she felt that imagery alone could speak volumes; specifically to the youth.

This tiny handmade mail experience was created for women craving creativity, rest, and a gentle place to begin again.
Each envelope includes:
💌 an original hand-stamped print
✂️ collage papers and ephemera
🧡 handmade extras from my studio
Everything is thoughtfully created by hand and no two packages are exactly alike. I had a great time putting this together!
