When we venture into our healing journey, we mustn't go from one extreme to the other.
The solution to overthinking/overanalyzing isn't to become lackadaisical or negligent in your thought processing and ignore blatant truths. You must learn to see things for what they are and not inject unfounded opinions or interpretations into the mix.
The solution for over-apologizing is not to stop apologizing altogether. If you're wrong or have wronged someone, it's still appropriate to offer an apology for your part in a situation.
The solution for being inordinately apathetic is not to jump into overanalyzing or worrying. You must learn that it is ok to care. Feelings are a natural part of the human experience and leaning towards apathy may not obviate hurt.
These are just a few examples, but going from one extreme to the other is not an indicator of your healing. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
Switching from one "bandaid" to another without properly addressing the wound will only lead to deeper "infection" and longer healing times.
So, in all of your healing, make sure you HEAL WELL.
Happy NYE! Yall be safe family 🤗

Sometimes you're just whelmed... and that's ok. Give yourself permission to navigate the in-between spaces in your own time.
(Disclaimer: Whelm does have its definition, but the literal meaning was not applied in this post ).

Often when we have been taught that our worth or place in society is based on our ability to produce or be productive. We may view rest as unnecessary and the need or desire for rest as a sign of incompetence.
As we attempt to unlearn those viewpoints, we may find it challenging to embrace the stillness that comes with rest.
It's not that we don't want to enjoy it, but our minds and bodies have grown accustomed to what it feels like to always be on the go.
Do not get discouraged if you find that you tend to fill your rest time with busy work or just find it hard to sit still.
Instead, give yourself grace. When you "catch" yourself working during rest times, gently guide yourself back towards rest and remind yourself that you are permitted to rest and enjoy resting.
It may take time but it is the continual and intentional effort towards rest that will help us to embrace and incorporate it into our daily lives.

The internal changes caused by trauma don't always happen immediately. More often, micro-adjustments build over time, dissociating us from our authentic selves.
Due to the gradually progressive nature of these changes, we aren't always aware of the alterations they cause and may even accept these changes as "normal".
The reality is we've constructed coping mechanisms to manage trauma (whether big events or smaller "everyday" events) and, in turn, accepted these mechanisms as personality traits.
Although these things may have been helpful in the overcoming of past trauma and prevention of new trauma, and we may even see them as "strengths", we must begin to recognize them to reorient with our authentic selves.

Rest is essential for a healthy life. Permit yourself to rest without explanation or excuses.

Stressors will come and go but how you perceive and process them makes all the difference! So learn to see, or imagine, the silver lining in each challenging situation that you face.

Did you know that sleep isn't the only way to rest? Although we often use the two words interchangeably, sleep is just one form of rest.
To rest is to be free from activity or labor; to have peace of mind or spirit and be free from anxiety or disturbance.
I'm addition to getting sleep, it is also important that you discover which types of rest work best for you and implement them into your day-to-day life.
Actively engaging in restful activities helps to break the stress cycle and promotes well-being.
So, how well are you resting? And what forms of rest do you utilize?
