Hello Friends,
I wanted to share something personal with you. Recently, an AI app kept prompting me to bring old photos to life. At first, I was hesitant—but I finally decided to animate one of the only two photos I have of my dad. (Pic 1 caution ⚠️ when you press play)
The moment I saw it, I broke down. That experience made me realize there was deeper healing I still needed to do.

Many of you know my dad was killed before I was born, and in recent years, I’ve really begun to feel the weight of that loss. During a session this week, I was encouraged to write him a letter (pic 2) -something that allowed me to release, reflect, and move forward.

(There’s something else I want to share with you, Dad — something that’s part of who I am. I’m a gay man. And I hope that doesn’t disappoint you. I like to believe that if you were here, you’d love me just the same — that you’d see how much good I try to bring into the world, how much love I give, and how true I try to live to who I am. I’ve come to understand that being honest about who I am is part of God’s purpose for me, too — to live with love, truth, and compassion.)

I share this to remind anyone navigating grief: it’s just love with nowhere to go. But when you face it, honor it, and do the work, that love can transform—you can find peace.

Desiree brings a wealth of experience as a fitness professional, leader, and former Atlanta Hawks Dancer. Her passion for movement, motivation, and helping others transform their lives truly shines in everything she does.

It is a true blessing to be in a position where I can help others grow and shine. That’s where my purpose is rooted and will continue.

I’m both humbled and excited to share that I’ll be stepping into my very first apprenticeship program as a facilitator for the Life Time + AFAA/NASM nationally accredited Primary Group Certification.

This certification is one of the most recognized in the industry, required by reputable health clubs across the country. In today’s fitness world, followers often get more attention than education—but for me, both matter, and education will always be the foundation.

I’ve had the privilege of training and leading instructors for years as a Fitness Pro, and now I get to make it official. This journey will take eight weeks of practice, coaching, and dedication. I was a little hesitant at first but when I saw a couple of pictures of myself in the manual twice.. that was my hint. I know it won’t always be easy, but I feel strongly that this is where God and the universe is leading me.

I’m honored to share this space with Mia M. and Tonita M., under the guidance of one of the very best, Abrea W. Together, we bring over 100 years of combined industry experience—and I truly believe that great leaders don’t just build followers, they create more great leaders. Grateful to hold space with Renate T. JCK SL And Raquel SLF SL, two of Life Time’s respectable leaders and performers.

Thank you to Life Time, my FitFam, and all of my friends for your encouragement and support as I take this next step while continuing to serve as Studio Leader at NDH.
