my grandma sheila. to write her name and think the words after will have to be a tribute is heartbreaking.

the verse on this sign my grandma sat by are words that I would use to describe her and her presence in my life.

my grandma Sheila was protective of her grandkids. if it was defending us to someone in the family or protecting us from the pains in life by telling us what she did and to learn from it. her love was deep and caring.

she let me practice my passions as a child and trusted me which helped me grow in independence. I would practice recipes in her kitchen every summer.

Whether it was her persevering to find the best bargain in a store( she was my introduction to bargain shopping and probably why I’m so frugal to this day.) or years of her being in pain here on this earth and persevering in the pain. I know she was tired of the pain and I have peace she is no longer suffering.

she called me a week ago and said I hope you have a beautiful wedding and I love you. a convo I cherish and grieve. I know she had many hopes for me which came out of a protective, hopeful and persevering love.

I will miss my grandma so much. All the joy she brought to my childhood summers. Our conversations as an adult. our trips to get corned beef sandwiches when I came into town. sleeping in her bed and waking up to her. her threats to s***k my “bunkum bunkum” ( she never did). watching her get ready and her letting me pick out her outfit. I know for a fact she loved me deep and I pray she felt the same from me.

the pain and grief is deep but Gods love is deeper and He offers a comforting love I pray will sustain me and my family in the coming days and beyond.

Shout out to all our friends and family that made our engagement day special. I was brought to tears that day to see how much love was in the room and how the people in our life love us so well and selflessly. I am so grateful for each and everyone of you! My joy was full! I love yall so much! 💛

I thought i had the gift of singleness. I never had a boyfriend. I have never been in love. Facts I thought qualified me for the singleness tract but the Lord had other plans. He did above and beyond I could ask or think. His power worked in me as I tend to be hesitant to take risks in love. The fact that I let him pursue me was a miracle lol ask anyone who knows me! I believe our friendship is what softened my heart towards Keith. I am so thankful Keith was my friend first. God knew I needed that. Keith is the kindest, sweetest, most loving, and caring man I know. I am super excited to be engaged to him and spend forever loving the God who lavishes his children with gifts they didn't know they needed. @ Atlanta, Georgia

As i was reading psalm 16 this morning, i was overwhelmed with gratefulness for the good God has brought into my life. the friendships turned into family, the suffering turned into rejoicing, the prayers he answered, and the ones he didn't. God is so kind. In him, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. I pray this encourages you today! 💛🙏🏽
