Trends come and go, but these six? They’re here to STAY!
From soft curves to bold stonework, cultural representation, and a throwback to the ‘70s & ‘80s—design is having a MOMENT. And let’s be real… glass bricks? I called it last year. 😏

Some trends start strong but overstay their welcome, making spaces feel generic, outdated, or uninspired. If your home or project still features things like neon signs, gray-on-gray everything, or farmhouse overload—it might be time for a refresh.
Good design isn’t just about following trends; it’s about creating a space that feels intentional, inviting, and timeless. In my latest article, I’m breaking down the trends that need to go and what to do instead.
Tell me, which trend are you ready to say goodbye to? 👇🏾

Great design isn’t just about how a space looks—it’s about how it connects with the people who use it. Here are the 6 design principles I’ve carried from my ad agency days into my work as an interior designer:
1. Know Your Audience: Designing without knowing who will use the space is like launching a product with no target customer. Always ask: Who is this space for?
2. Tell a Story: Every space should have a narrative. From furniture to decor, each piece should contribute to the story you’re telling.
3. Consistency is Key: Just like a brand needs a unified identity, a well-designed space should feel cohesive. That doesn’t mean everything matches—it means everything belongs.
4. Blend Form and Function: A beautiful space that doesn’t work for its purpose isn’t truly successful. Design with both utility and aesthetics in mind.
5. Evoke Emotion: The most memorable spaces spark a feeling—whether it’s nostalgia, joy, or inspiration. Emotional design leaves a lasting impression.
6. Focus on the Details: The smallest touches—like lighting, textures, or thoughtful amenities—turn a good design into a great experience.
These principles are the foundation of every space I create, from short-term rentals to residential homes.
