My name is Yadira Angulo Alemán. I was born in Mexico City; my father is originally from the Mixteca region of Puebla, and my mother is from the state of Veracruz.
I am grateful to Xochiquetzalli Council Inc. for the opportunity to participate in this Ancestral Knowledge Ticitl (Doula) certification. Through this course, I was able to awaken within myself—at a deep level—the knowledge that my mother, our grandmothers, and the community where I grew up practiced, and that in my youth I did not value as I do now.
What I appreciated most about this course is that it does not “sell” ancestral wisdom, but rather guides you, step by step, so that you can reconnect with the practices that have existed within our families and communities for generations.

Hello, my name is Meyolotzin Miriam Abrajan-Mani, daughter of parents who migrated to the United States in the 1980s, carrying countless dreams and ancestral knowledge…
I want to express my gratitude to all my compañeras for accompanying me throughout the Ancestral Knowledge course. But I especially want to thank Quetziquetl Angulo for taking the time to organize, structure, and bring these awakenings within us to life. Through these courses, I was able to rediscover the potential within our traditions and recognize that each of us carries medicine and healing knowledge. That we are capable of guiding and caring for our communities through touch, word, and tradition. These courses have helped cultivate new beginnings for me, both personally and professionally. I hope in the near future to bring my learning to everyone who needs it, with visibility, equity, empathy, and love.

My name is Laura, and I am very happy to have taken this Ancestral Knowledge Ticitl (Doula) course led by Quetziquetl because I learned so much—from the simplicity of care and support to sobadas, herbal rubs, and traditional closings hips. It was powerful to recognize that these practices have always been with us, passed down from grandmothers to mothers to daughters.
I am also deeply grateful for each of the women who were part of the group, as there was such a beautiful energy among us—through conversations, laughter, and shared learning.
I just want to thank Quetzi once again for creating these kinds of spaces. I am taking with me an incredible experience.

Quetzi Doula Care LLC

Tribute to the Women of the 21st Century — honoring the importance of women as the backbone of the family and as a driving force in the global economy.
Women change the world every single day, even when no one is watching.
We do it when we hold our families together, when we support other women, when we survive, when we study, when we migrate, when we build businesses, when we heal, and when we choose truth over silence.
The woman of the 21st century is not only the professional, the entrepreneur, or the activist.
She is the woman who acts from her roots.
The one who looks at herself with honesty.
The one who chooses to break cycles.
The one who dares to dream even without guarantees.
The one who rebuilds herself after every fall.
My message is simple:
Do not walk alone.
Seek community, networks, circles.
Healing and leadership are not individual paths — they are collective ones.
Thank you to the Instituto de Mexicanas y Mexicanos en el Exterior – SRE for the invitation to be part of this powerful conversatorio and for creating a space that honors our voices and our stories.
Honored to sit among powerful women in a conversation honoring the Women of the 21st Century — recognizing our role as the heart of our families, and as a collective force shaping the global economy.
Thank you to the Institute for Mexicans Abroad for opening this sacred space for our voices and stories.
