20 years ago when I started I was straight out of high school and life was life-ing.
Today, we have so many resources and the internet. Find a business mentor & get the help you need! Closed mouths don’t get fed.

1. I was a hair braiding booth renter straight out of school with little to no clientele. (before I started doing nails) No clientele means less money but the rent still has to be paid. I highly recommend beginners going into a commission base salon. Find a good salon home you’re able to grow in and build clientele! Being a suite renter is a trend at the moment but remember all the responsibility is on you!

2. Come up with a good price list that covers your products, time, talent, etc. Don’t have your prices so high that you have no choice but to constantly run special bc you can’t get any clientele. Remember charge your worth but as a service provider know you worth as well!

3. Have a business budget plan!!!! Write your bills down, keep up with your business expenses & also set a savings goal! Trust me, it helps!!

When you follow your budget plan it can help you prepare for those “slow seasons” cause they for sure coming.
