The other day I went to do makeup and hair for one person and would up doing threw more services. Five services in 3 hours and 15 minutes including set up and wrap out. Do li like working that fast? Not at all. Will I day no to last minute requests — that all depends on the request and if you ask nicely 😊

This was a simple half up hairstyle for one of the add-on clients. When it works it works.

My client wanted natural looking skin with a dewy glow. She didn’t want a lash or to look “made up” and due to high winds in the San Luis Obispo area she wanted her hair back in a sleep pony.

Mission accomplished!

Someone asked for a half-up look with braid going to back and a bow of hair…. Uh, ok… well, I did it on the mannequin.

Just becuase it can be done, doesn’t mean it should be done.

My client has little to no hair, the texture of cotton candy, at the front of her face and it was very short, so making a braid wasn’t possible. Then she had one row of the worst hair extensions ever which didn’t match in texture or color, but I was able to give her the bow she wanted with those long extensions. Due to the placement of the extensions the bow needed to be lower down. But we made it work.

This is why a hair trial is an important step in bridal styling. ANYTHING can be done on the thick perfect hair of a mannequin. But every person has their own unique hair with its own set of challenges. You may think your stylist is trying to milk you for more money with a trial. Not true, she’s just wanting you to have the best wedding hair possible.
