The outdoor quilt show is this upcoming Saturday, May 9th and I'm so excited!! I'll have two quilts on display, both of which look so much better in person because they are made with materials that interact beautifully with the light which can't be captured with my amateur photography skills. There will be over 50 quilts on display, all different styles and techniques. And the show is completely free!!! We're also just a few blocks from Prospect Park, so you can enjoy the sunshine all day long. I'll be there the whole time, so be sure to say hi!
When: Saturday, May 9th, from 11am to 4pm
Where: 245 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY 11215

The first pic is my entry into the upcoming fence show put on by the on May 9th. If you're in the NYC area, come out and see the over 50 quilts that will be on display. It's totally free. (See my earlier post or message me for details.) The second pic is a quilt I made for the I'm so happy with how they both turned out!

This small 15.5" x 11.5" quilt is another pattern and thread study. I'm testing out a variation of one of my Xenobiology motifs for a larger project, and I also wanted to see how glitter thread works with an overall quilt design. The big learning from this study is that I think the glitter thread will work better as a sparkly highlight here and there because it kind of obscures the little quilting details in an overall pattern. But it sure is pretty! 😁
And thank you to for the thread!!

Took Mom and Dad to the United Nations today for a guided tour. I focused my photos on various textiles that have been gifted to the UN from member states. Such gorgeous examples of the highest craftsmanship. The last photo in this series is an enormous tapestry that apparently would wrap around the equator four times if it was completely unwound.

Another quilt sandwich has been pin basted. And once again I will spend many, many days trying to figure out how I'm going to actually quilt it. Oof. Makes my brain hurt. 😵💫
