This babe had two ✌🏽requests: To make her brow shape fit her face while also opening up her eyes.

We also worked over an old tattoo that is slightly peaking through the right brow and fixed the asymmetry in the front of the left brow that was caused by a shaving incident. 😬

Because I wanted to keep these nice and airy up in the fronts for a more natural look, we are giving those strokes enough space and grace to heal correctly before adding any shading there just yet. All of those perfecting details will come at the touchup once these babies have done their healing. 🫶🏽✨

One of my clients came in for her brow appt and told me “I have something I want to give you!”

She then pulled out of her purse the most beautiful earrings and told me that at our consultation she noticed my Frida Kahlo frame that I have hung up in my studio and wanted to make me some Frida earrings.

I honestly almost started crying when I received these. If you know me, you know Frida is such an inspiration and role model to me. Heck, I even have her portrait tattooed on me! 😅 Not only is she a brow icon (i say it singular cus we all know it was one big gorgeous fluffy brow), but she is also an icon in latin culture, the art world, women empowerment, and in the lgbtq+ community. So the impact she has had on my life as a mexican q***r female artist has been monumental and I am forever grateful for such a heartwarming gift.

My main goal when doing your brows is to fuse the strokes and pigment into your existing hairs in a way that makes it flow seamlessly.

In the close-up on the second slide you can see where we try to follow her natural hair pattern as closely as possible. This results in microblading that is almost undetectable!!

These will heal, soften, and cool in the skin over the course of the next 6 weeks and I can’t wait to show you all the beautiful healed results. 🖤

NOTE: The white ring around the brows is not swelling at all, but instead a common result of my secondary numbing called “skin blanching”. This just means the numbing has penetrated the layers of skin and has temporarily decreased blood flow to the area which is completely normal and to be expected. This will go away a few hours after the procedure, once the numbing subsides!

Looking through my drafts and realized I forgot to showcase this stunning transformation of one of my clients. 🤍⛓️

But better late than never! So let’s talk about MAKEUP vs. PERMANENT MAKEUP:

The biggest misconception out there is that microblading alone will replace your every day brow pencil. When we microblade we are tattooing realistic looking hairs, but when we tattoo with a machine (AKA powder brows or shading) we are tattooing your brow makeup.

Think of it like this, when you are filling in your brows with a pencil/powder you aren’t necessarily adding hair, you’re adding density. So if you’re used to wearing a brow pencil every day then microblading alone won’t be enough to replace that look since we aren’t adding the density that you’re used to seeing. Now when we add shading to your brows, we are actually tattooing that brow pencil and density into the skin. This leaves you with a more low-maintenance style.

So for my brow clients who don’t have much hair at all to begin with but also wear brow makeup every day, we add both of these styles (microblading + shading) to cover all bases of achieving your dream brows.

YOUR BROWS DESERVE LOVE TOO 💔

If you’ve been neglecting your brows for too long and don’t even know where to draw them in or what shape to go with anymore, permanent makeup is going to be your best friend!

The top picture is my client before any services, bottom is after 2 sessions of combo brows. She’s used to using a heavier brow pencil look, but wanted her results to still look natural even when not wearing any makeup. And with having very little hair on the front half of her brows, we decided the combo brow style was best for her!

Natural enough but yet defined enough to fit her every day look, and on days she’s wanting to be extra poppin’ she could easily throw some pencil or powder over the shape we customized for her to enhance them. Win-win for everyone! 💁🏽‍♀️
