A huge aspect of living a healthier life is learning HOW!! Here are some Wellness Wednesday tips!!
Did you know?
Most of the pain we feel in our body is the result of inflammation, the body’s natural response to protect itself from harm (injury, bacteria, toxins, high fat & highly processed foods). Chronic inflammation is at the root of many diseases including Alzheimer’s, asthma, allergies, cardiovascular disease, Crohn’s disease and colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, type 2 diabetes, psoriasis and obesity.
Some causes of inflammation are:
➡️ chronic stress
➡️ eating inflammatory foods
➡️ autoimmune diseases
➡️ oxidative stress (damage to cells)
Some sources of inflammation are:
🛑 refined sugar
🛑 processed foods
🛑 highly refined oils + trans fats
🛑 dairy
🛑 alcohol
🛑 smoking
🛑 cured meats
Foods that reduce inflammation are:
✅ fruits + vegetables (eat the rainbow)
✅ omegas + fatty fish like salmon
✅ nuts + grains (especially almonds + walnuts)
✅ healthy fats like avocados
✅ dry beans
✅ turmeric, ginger, cinnamon
If you want to reduce inflammation & the pain you feel in your body, here are some things you can do:
👊🏻 Eat more whole foods + up your plant intake
👊🏻 Move more + try to break a sweat most days
👊🏻 Drink more water (half your weight in ounces)
👊🏻 Sleep 7-8 hours a night
👊🏻 Reduce stress + find ways to manage it
👊🏻 Plug into a community that supports healthy lifestyle habits + education
Our body is a machine. Fuel it well for optimal performance. And remember, we truly are what we eat. Be intentional each day to choose foods that improve health + reduce inflammation to feel better in our body and experience less pain. Here’s to a healthy, happy 2022 ❤️

Happy New Year everyone!! January is the perfect time to focus on health + wellness and establish (or re-visit) some healthy lifestyle habits. It’s all about the little things we do each day 👊🏻 Some days self-care may look like upping your water intake, movement or intake of whole foods, while other days it may be more rest or doing something that brings you JOY 💗 If you’re looking for an an effective 10 day program for a reset, reach out. During the holiday season, we all get super busy. There are so many fun events, responsibilities, parties, decorating + celebrating that we forget to stop, rest, listen to our bodies, and focus on deep breathing + mindfulness. It brings peace + relaxation!! I LOVE this time of year but I have to be very intentional about including in self-care each day. It could be a nice walk, reading, a bath, netflix-ing, painting, writing. Whatever brings you J O Y 🎁🎄

Happy, healthy Black Friday!! Plant-based protein is my favorite way to go!! With lots of added plants, including mushroom powder (which provides Vitamin D,!!) Complete is my go-to!! Starting Dec 1, we will be sharing lots of shake & protein ball & bite recipes. These treats are a great way to bring something delicious AND healthy to your next holiday gathering!!
