“I couldn’t do that before!”
Working with a dozen different clients of different ages, abilities, and goals, one of my very favorite moments in personal training is hearing those five simple words.
Progress takes time. And trust. And as those two things increase, so does a willingness to try new things. And with that comes the ah-ha moment.

14 years ago, I started teaching TurboKick cardio kickboxing at Taylor Bend Family YMCA. I was 41. Yup, that’s when I decided to start a side hustle in fitness. At the time, I remember hoping to still be doing it at 50. Not only did I teach on my 50th birthday - outside on a warm May day during the Covid shutdown - I taught two classes and we did 50 burpees in each class 😜.
While extroverted-Nicole really loves pumping up people in a classroom or training session, the real joy is in seeing the transformations. The confidence gained. The strength increased. The people who take the time to say, “I couldn’t do that before, but now…”
For those of you who have been with me from the start and to those who I’m just now getting to know, thank you. Thank you for trusting me to walk with you on this wellness journey. I am forever grateful.
