Thank you for the warm birthday wishes! 😘

Whether you sent them electronically; via my surprise video; over a socially distant meal; through my favorite handmade carrot cake; with the biggest balloon display; or while sitting through my super cold, softball championship games— the gesture was absolutely appreciated.

You know how to make a girl forget about the nuisance of covid. ☺️ @ Chicago, Illinois

Seldom, (if ever), do I participate in IG challenges. But I decided to do this one because I want to use this woman empowerment narrative to keep the light on the travesty with . A female soldier sexually harassed by her superior went missing, and no one from the Army batted an eye about it. Ultimately it was discovered she was brutally murdered on the base. This story sparked hundreds of other female soldiers to come forward and share their horrific stories of sexual harassment and assault from their military colleagues. Sexual harassment at the work place is repulsive enough. But when it is a common practice with those who sign up to serve and protect our country, our protest on behalf of these women should be relentless.

May our collective female roar send reverberations to a toxic patriarchy that believes this culture of behavior will be tolerated.

It’s been an emotional season with so much racial, covid and political tension. Thoughts I’m grappling to digest, and plan to express.

But for now, how rejuvenating and soul-lifting is it to visit your favorite 3 year-old as he lives his best life. May everyone find someone that looks at you the way Matias looks at Vivian, (his older woman, pool buddy, neighbor crush). @ West Town

We met in 1991. Three decades, 25 pounds, and some (silver fox) grays later, still the same goofballs.

Best way to my heart is through my stomach or on a sailboat. @ Lake Michigan, Chicago Lakefront

Our last night of civic engagement, (at least for a while). Two things are obvious: 1) We’re both tired. 2) My mom is a civically active rockstar.
