Uranian Threads
A voyage of discovery through knitting and sewing; boldly going where few men have gone before.
My sewing and knitting projects reflect a drive to innovate, a passion for perfection and a gift for mathematics. The focus is on excellence, often incorporating complex techniques such as advanced forms of double knitting and a bold use of color. Sometimes the projects are prosaic, other times they are extraordinary - ranging from a University of Illinois shirt pieced from multiple fabrics suitable for a homecoming game to an op art scarf of Escher-like illusions.

With some wideback flannel, foam insulation board, bungee cords, and a wooden dowel rod, I’ve “McGuyver-ed” a design wall for tomorrow’s quilting class.
Edited: to add picture of how the design wall folds up the ceiling to get it out of the way when it’s not in use.

Updated with picture of finished work
Participated in my guild’s “Project Quiltway” today. Even though I didn’t finish getting the binding on, I am satisfied with the project. I plan to finish it and use it as a table topper.
