Welcome home, colony number 6. 🐝

Things are moving along here. Building comb and filling up the boxes! We just love to watch them work. 🍯

Pollen pants, all the rage this spring season. 🐝

Honeybees collect pollen as a protein-rich food source to feed the colony, especially developing larvae. They mix it with nectar to make “bee bread,” which is stored in the hive. Pollen also provides essential nutrients that help the colony grow and stay healthy. 🌼

Thousands gathered as one, pausing mid-journey before finding their next home 🐝☀️

We have had so much incredible luck with swarms this season, up to 5 colonies already! 🌿

Welcome to the family! 🐝🍯

Remember if you see a swarm, don’t freak out! Swarming bees are very docile. Just call a local beekeeper (*ahem* we are a good choice 😉) and they will come and relocate them!

🐝🐝🐝
Nasonov Pheromone Release: Workers raise their abdomens and fan their wings to release a scent from the Nasonov gland. This acts as a beacon for other bees to locate the hive, often during swarming or when foraging.

We’re back, baby! New house means new space for our favorite pollinators! Can’t wait to get back to it. 🍯

This is why it’s important to have the right tools for the job! Having a thermal camera helped me find this hive quickly and remove it with minimal damage to the home! It was a great day to save some honey bees. 🐝

Happy World Bee Day!!! We don’t just love them for their honey. Bees are responsible for pollinating 80% of the worlds plants. To make one pound of honey, the bees in the colony must visit 2 million flowers, flying over 55,000 miles. Let’s take a day to appreciate these invaluable hard workers.

It’s swarm season, y’all!

Make sure if you see a swarm, you give us a call! We will come get them for free. Don’t be afraid, bees in a swarm are incredibly docile. And remember, NEVER spray honey bees!
