In honor of my friend Jenna Doore | Destination Wedding Photographer being on Survivor , I am here to add proof to Jenna not only being a wedding photographer, but also one of the best wedding photographers in Ohio and Michigan. One of my favorite weddings at Hotel Walloon, along with one of my favorite brides c a s s i d y. Jenna manages to make each couple feel like a long lost friend, all while capturing the most beautiful and artistic images. She doesn’t need me to promote her, but here I am doing it anyways.

Let’s talk foundation! The trend for the past few years has been less coverage and more skin focused ingredients. I personally love the minimalist movement, but for weddings I like to make sure any redness or discoloration is covered. Of course is a natural stunner, but she also has cute freckles which I did not want to hide.
I find the best way to keep skin from looking cakey when it comes to freckles, the key is less is more on certain areas. I keep the nose and cheeks as sheer as possible so the freckles are present and the skin looks natural. Freckles are makeup unto themselves and the more you cover them, it can often make the skin underneath look ashy or dull. So keep those natural beauty marks and let them shine!

It doesn’t get much more beautiful than Sydney Kendrick. Lucky in love and lucky to have an amazing group of family and friends surrounding her this weekend. These kind of people make my job so much fun. We did a few change ups from our trial. Added a brighter blush with pink and coral tones, brightened the under eye, and switched up the lip to a glossy mauve. Sydney’s natural beauty shined through!

Let’s talk lashes (probably one of my favorite subjects as a makeup artist). They can be daunting as a client and most people are afraid of looking like they have two woolly caterpillars sitting on their lids. False lashes have come a long way in the past 20 years I have been doing makeup. From plastic looking monstrosities to light and feathery, there is so much innovation going on in the field.
For Jordyn I used V shaped individual lashes which are very delicate and soft. They mimic the natural lash flow blend seamlessly into the lash line. I like KASHA LASHES ® fishtail lashes in 9mm for this look.

For Danielle we wanted more length and a bit more volume. So I stacked individual lashes in 10mm and 12mm. I like to use 10 mm on the inner and outer corners and the 12mm in the center. Using length in the center really opens the eyes

If you want volume but not necessarily length, I love the Dark Swan Luxurious Eyelashes secret lashes In #2 and #3. I alternate these trio lashes to create a solid base. I just used 8mm and 10mm. I love the way this look came out on Emily.

Here’s my take on makeup. I like how my clients look before I put any makeup on their face. There’s something fresh and open about a bare face, no matter the age or condition of the skin. So with that in mind, I try to keep my makeup looking minimal. There may be quite a lot of products involved, but I want the outcome to look natural.
