when you’re going darker there’s really nothing to stress about

it’s a lot more forgiving

going blonde on the other hand is a whole different story

blonde is not forgiving.

timing and proper application is everything.

this isn’t a service you can rush, guess, or “eyeball.”

every section processes differently, every head of hair reacts differently — and if you miss it by even a little, the damage is already done.

most people don’t realize how little room there is for error until it’s too late.

this is why experience matters.

this is why attention to detail matters.

blonding can feel like a matter of life or death — literally

so here’s what i do to avoid killing your hair

this client is naturally a darker blonde, so she doesn’t need anything aggressive to get bright

i start in the back with a more gentle formula since those foils sit the longest

then move forward with a slightly stronger formula where the processing time is shorter

no rushing
no overprocessing

i don’t use heat — i let the lightener do its job

i carefully monitor every foil and remove them as they’re ready

not all at once

and i pick out previously lightened pieces to avoid overlap
that’s where most damage happens

does this take more time? yes

is it worth it? always

most stylists will just blindly do exactly what you ask for.

i don’t. i like to take it a step further and make sure that’s actually what you want.

when a client asks for a drastic chop, i slow it down.

i ask why. how long they’ve wanted it. if they’ve done it before.

because cutting your hair takes minutes.
growing it back takes years.

short hair isn’t “easier” like people think.
it’s daily styling. more frequent haircuts. awkward grow-out phases.

so no, i won’t just grab the scissors and go.
i’d rather protect you from a decision you might regret.

and if you really want to go shorter after thinking it through?

i’ll do it. even cut it again for free.
but my job isn’t just to do hair.
it’s to look out for you.

i’ve had clients come back and thank me for not cutting it too short — and that tells me everything 🤍

most salons are run like fast food.

cheap prices. high volume. clients in and out all day. double booked. rushed.

you’re not being listened to, you’re being processed.
and when speed is the priority, your hair becomes the risk.
cuts too short. color pushed too far.

i don’t work like that.

i take a limited number of clients so you get my full attention, proper time, and a result that actually matches what you asked for.

not too long ago i made the decision to double my prices.

it wasn’t something i did lightly. i spent a lot of time thinking about it and preparing myself for the possibility that some clients might not continue coming in.

i was nervous. part of me wanted to keep my prices the same because it was comfortable and i was already fully booked.
but the other part of me knew my pricing needed to match the long-term vision i have for my brand. the clients you attract and the way your brand is perceived is shaped by your prices. no one believes you’re top notch if you’re charging the same as everyone else—or less. price is one of many signals of value.

so even though i was nervous, i didn’t raise my prices by $5 or even $50.

i doubled them.

what happened next honestly surprised me.

i thought i might be ruining my business. i worried i’d have to shamefully lower my prices again and “stay in my place.”

but that didn’t happen. even though i had been charging standard prices before, i always treated every service like it was a million-dollar experience—which is why my clients didn’t have a problem with the increase.

for me, it’s never been about making more money or funding an extravagant lifestyle. it’s about pouring more back into the business and adding even more value for the clients who trust me with their hair.

it’s about filling a gap in the market and eventually creating jobs for people who feel supported, appreciated, and genuinely excited to come into work.

to every client who continues to trust me, i appreciate you more than you know.

your support allows me to keep growing, raising the standard, and making sure every visit is the experience you deserve.

thank you for being here, supporting me, and sharing your feedback 🤍
