And I use a long pointy instrument to get the job done!🤣

How would you describe your job?

Capturing my talent and sharing what I do should be easy, but many times it’s not.

So when I do get the opportunity to share, I pray you don’t just see the hair, I pray you feel my heart, my passion, and my love for what I’ve been called to do. My hope is that every service leaves you feeling better on the inside as well as the outside.

This wasn’t her first appointment, but I hadn’t seen her in quite some time. During our previous visits, she and her son connected with my girls and me in a way that felt genuine and authentic. Reconnecting reminded us how important it is to be intentional about staying connected and building the kind of community God calls us to create.

Not every appointment is transactional.

Sometimes it’s fellowship.Sometimes it’s encouragement.Sometimes it’s simply being present for one another.

The level of respect, kindness, and genuine care we share reminds me exactly why I was called to this profession.

Hair may be what brings people to my chair, but relationships are what make them stay. ❤️

Some days entrepreneurship feels exciting.

Other days it feels heavy.

This video started out as me simply preparing for a client, but while I was setting up, I found myself reflecting on how many times I’ve wanted to quit things that were difficult.

The truth is, most of us don’t need to quit—we need to pause, regroup, pray, and sometimes pivot.

If you’re building a business, raising a family, pursuing a dream, healing, starting over, or simply trying to make it through this season, I want to remind you to look around. Look at what you’ve already accomplished. Look at what you’ve survived. Look at the doors God has already opened.

Don’t let a hard season convince you that your journey is over.

Stay focused.
Stay patient.
Trust God.

Maybe you’re not stuck.
Maybe you’re being positioned.

✨ What you’re praying for may still be waiting on you to grow into it.

Entrepreneur to entrepreneur: What’s one thing you’re believing God for in this season?

Two years ago, this sisterhood started in my red salon chair… and now look at us. 🫶🏾

From client appointments to playdates, Thanksgiving dinners, kids’ parties, birthday celebrations, and little mommy meetups over coffee, bacon & eggs on toasted bagels, waffles, and real conversations ☕️🥓🧇

Last week’s breakfast meetup with Seanice and Ebony was another reminder that entrepreneurship is so much bigger than money. Sometimes the greatest blessing is the village God sends through the journey. The women who check on you, pray with you, laugh with you, pour into you, and allow you to pour back into them too.

Building a business can come with hiccups and unexpected turns, but I’m learning to value the “small” things more than ever, the conversations, the support, the comfort, the encouragement, and even the simple sip of water someone brings when life feels heavy.

Sometimes believing God for the business you prayed for also means believing Him for the people He would place along the way. 🤍

So thankful for women who truly see my heart. Here’s to another week filled with purpose, sisterhood, grace, and good brunch dates. ✨

Also, be sure to follow Seanice a newborn care specialist here in ATL helping and supporting families through those precious early stages of motherhood. 💕 And check out Ebony as she continues to share engaging wellness content and inspiration for women on their journey as well. 🌱Following our journey will encourage and fuel you to continue stepping out on faith! 🙏🏽

The finances? Whew 😅
The budgeting? Baby… it be budgeting 😂

But this life right here? I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Being a stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur comes with sacrifices, slow seasons, long nights, uncertainty, and a whole lot of faith. But being able to witness my girls grow into who they’re becoming firsthand? That’s the part money could never replace.

One is on the tennis court 🎾
One is in Taekwondo 🥋
And one is just being cute, confident, and fancy as always 💅🏽

Meanwhile, I’m behind the chair building a life that gives me the freedom to actually be present for it all.

This is the life of a stay-at-home mom braider… and honestly, I’m grateful for every version of it 🤎

If you’ve been thinking about learning how to braid or starting your own journey as a braider, follow the link in my bio for info on my braiding classes and how you can do it too ✨

What does a a former paralegal/legal assistant and Medicaid manager know about braiding? 🤎

More than people think.

One thing my years in offices, conference rooms, case files, deadlines, management, and leadership taught me is this:

Don’t just do the work quietly… let people SEE you working.

Too many hardworking people stay hidden behind the results. They complete the projects, solve the problems, carry the pressure, keep everything moving… and nobody even knows they were the one holding it all together.

Visibility matters.

Not for attention.
Not for ego.
But because your work deserves a name and a face attached to it.

Whether you’re in corporate, government, entrepreneurship, or building something from home… don’t shrink yourself into the background while everybody else takes credit for what you helped build.

Show up.
Document the process.
Own your growth.
Let people connect the work to YOU. 💛
