🚨DIAGNOSTIC OF CHILD T0RTURE’: Indiana Couple Arrested After 14-Year-Old Starves to D£ath⚖️🚨
A teenager’s d£ath in Bloomington, Indiana, has led to a criminal investigation centered on allegations of prolonged confinement, food deprivation, and missed opportunities to protect a child whose health was reportedly deteriorating.
Authorities have taken Jerry Mayfield Jr. and his wife, Toris Mayfield, into custody after a grand jury investigation revealed extreme, long-term ab_se leading to the fatal starvation of 14-year-old Jamiyah Mayfield.
14-YEAR-OLD JAM IYAH MAYFIELD DI£D FROM SEVERE MALNUTRITION & DEHYDRATION
Jamiyah Mayfield was just 14 when she di£d in July 2025. More than a year later, her adoptive mother, Toris Mayfield, and her father, Jerry Mayfield, have been arrested and returned to face charges in Indiana.
HOW JAM IYAH’S LIVING CONDITIONS BECAME PART OF THE INVESTIGATION
Court documents allege that Jerry and Toris Mayfield took custody of Jamiyah in 2024, and Toris adopted her in November of that year.
Investigators allege that Jamiyah was treated differently from other children in the household and confined to her bedroom, where she was reportedly denied food.
After she was withdrawn from public school in February 2025 and switched to homeschooling, investigators say conditions in her room became a significant concern. Court documents reportedly describe the removal of furniture, clothing and bedding, locks that could only be operated from outside the bedroom, and a screw placed in the window frame to prevent it from opening.
Video footage reportedly showed Jamiyah asking Toris for permission to use the bathroom and being refused.
HER HEALTH DECLINED AS HER WEIGHT FELL
According to the investigation, Jamiyah’s weight dropped from approximately 125 pounds to just 80 pounds.
In May 2025, she received medical treatment for swollen legs, weight loss and marks on her skin. Investigators alleged that the couple had not raised concerns with her doctors about an eating disorder or the extent of her weight loss.
Authorities also noted that Toris had completed nursing coursework and supervised clinical rotations while pursuing practical nursing certification. Investigators allege that her training was relevant to whether she should have recognized the signs of serious medical deterioration and sought care.
That issue is part of the allegations, not an independent finding of criminal guilt.
WHAT HAPPENED ON JULY 2, 2025
Toris called 911 after finding Jamiyah unresponsive in her bedroom.
According to investigators, video footage showed Toris yelling at the teenager and dragging her into the bathroom before emergency help arrived. Jamiyah was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced d£ad.
The autopsy determined that she died from complications of severe protein-calorie malnutrition and dehydration. A child abuse pediatrician who reviewed the case reportedly described the death as “diagnostic of child t0rture.”
That medical assessment underscores the severity of the condition described in the case records.
THE ARRESTS AND THE ROAD AHEAD
In October 2026, Toris and Jerry Mayfield were arrested in Osceola, Arkansas, and extradited to Indiana to face the pending felony charges.
Jerry pleaded not guilty at his initial hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 1, with his jury trial set to begin April 5, 2027. Court records indicate that Toris was booked into jail on October 24.
The case remains before the courts. The allegations against each defendant must be assessed individually, and neither should be treated as convicted unless guilt is established through the legal process.
A CASE THAT RAISES URGENT CHILD-PROTECTION QUESTIONS
Jamiyah’s d£ath raises serious questions about the warning signs visible to caregivers, the role of medical professionals when a child presents with significant weight loss, and the safeguards available when a child may be isolated from others.
What systems should be in place to ensure that severe malnutrition, unexplained physical changes, or signs of confinement prompt further investigation?
Children depend on adults to provide food, medical care and safety. When warning signs appear, recognizing them must lead to meaningful action.
Jamiyah deserves to be remembered as a young person whose life mattered—not simply as the subject of a criminal case.

⚖️‼️ NINE CALLS FOR HELP. A D£ADLY OUTCOME. BOYFRIEND SAID ‘I THINK I K!LLED HER THIS TIME, NOW, A MINNEAPOLIS MAN FACES A MURD£R CHARGE.⚖️🚨
Before Allison Lussier was found d£ad inside her Minneapolis home, she had reportedly contacted 911 at least nine times about domestic vio|ence involving her boyfriend.
More than two years later, a new m*rder charge has brought renewed attention to her d£ath—and to questions about how quickly repeated pleas for help were addressed.
THE INVESTIGATION INTO ALLISON’S DEATH
Lussier, 47, was found d£ad on February 22, 2024, lying on a mattress inside her home.
Days earlier, a maintenance worker had left a flyer beneath her door. When the worker noticed it remained untouched, concern grew and Lussier was discovered.
An autopsy detected drugs in her system, but the medical examiner determined that the cause of d£ath was a brain bleed resulting from a blow to the head.
Investigators subsequently linked the case to Charles Foss, now 36, who was reportedly known to have a history of domestic vio|ence involving Lussier.
Foss has since been charged with second-degree m*rder. The charge is an allegation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
A REPORTED STATEMENT THAT BECAME PART OF THE CASE
After Lussier’s death, witnesses reportedly told investigators that Foss had gone to a homeless encampment and said, “I think I ki||ed that b— this time.”
Authorities later encountered Foss in connection with a separate burglary investigation. According to the account provided, he cut his own thr0at and wrote “sorry” in blood on a closet door.
These reported events form part of the broader account surrounding the investigation, but the m*rder charge must ultimately be evaluated through evidence presented in court.
THE NINE CALLS—and THE QUESTIONS ABOUT RESPONSE TIMES
One of the most significant aspects of this case is Lussier’s reported history of seeking emergency assistance.
The Minneapolis Police Department has acknowledged that staffing shortages delayed its response to her calls for help.
That acknowledgment raises an important public-safety question: when someone repeatedly reports domestic vio|ence, what procedures are in place to assess escalating danger, prioritize emergency calls, and ensure that a person at risk is not left without timely assistance?
Repeated calls for help can be critical warning signs. Understanding how those reports were handled may be essential to evaluating whether existing policies and resources adequately protect people experiencing domestic vio|ence.
ALLISON LUSSIER DESERVES TO BE REMEMBERED
Lussier was more than the circumstances surrounding her d£ath. Her reported efforts to seek help are an important part of this story, as are the questions her case raises about emergency response and domestic-vio|ence prevention.
• Do you believe repeated domestic-vio|ence calls should trigger a formal high-risk review, especially when the same person is repeatedly reporting thr£ats or ab_se?
• Her case underscores why reports of domestic vio|ence must be taken seriously—and why communities need effective systems that can respond before another person loses their life.

⚖️🚨15 YEARS WEIGHING 61 POUNDS HE WAS A WALKING SKELETON’: State to Pay $49M After Disabled Autistic Teen Starves to D£ath Days After CPS Visit⚖️🚨
‼️ YEARS OF REPORTED WARNING SIGNS
Six days after a social worker reportedly documented that 15-year-old Karreon Adams-Franks was “very skinny” but faced “no present danger,” the teenager was d£ad.
Now, the State of Washington and Evergreen School District have agreed to a combined $49.3 million settlement over allegations that agencies responsible for protecting Karreon failed to intervene before his d£ath.
A YEAR OF DECLINING HEALTH
Karreon was autistic, nonverbal and legally blind. According to the case details, he weighed approximately 115 pounds a year before his d£ath. By November 2020, his weight had fallen to just 61 pounds.
The medical examiner determined that Karreon di£d from starvation and neg|ect.
His adoptive parents, Felicia Adams and Jesse Franks, were convicted of domestic vio|ence h0micide in connection with his d£ath.
THE WARNING SIGNS THAT ARE NOW UNDER SCRUTINY
Attorneys representing Karreon's estate alleged that the danger was not limited to the final days of his life. The case raised concerns about whether school personnel and state workers responded appropriately to repeated warning signs about the children’s welfare.
According to the estate’s lawyers, Karreon’s brothers reported that they were not being fed. The lawsuit alleged that school staff relayed those reports to the parents, after which the children faced further b£atings.
The attorneys also described the brothers as being forced to witness Karreon’s deteriorating condition while allegedly experiencing ab_se themselves.
These allegations point to a critical safeguarding concern: when a child reports possible ab_se or neg|ect, how should schools and social services respond to ensure the report is investigated safely rather than potentially exposing the child to further harm?
WHAT THE $49.3 MILLION SETTLEMENT MEANS
The State of Washington and Evergreen School District have agreed to the settlement over the alleged failures to protect Karreon. The agreement brings significant financial accountability to the case, although a settlement is not necessarily an admission of liability by every party.
Attorney Chris Davis said the alleged failures extended over years, arguing that the people and agencies responsible for protecting the children saw warning signs but did not act effectively.
The settlement also brings renewed attention to the systems meant to protect children with disabilities, particularly those who may have difficulty communicating ab_se or asking for help.
❓❔❓
Karreon’s d£ath raises serious questions about how reports of suspected neg|ect are documented, how agencies share information, and what happens when a child’s condition continues to deteriorate despite contact with professionals.
• Should there be stronger independent follow-up when a child is visibly malnourished? And what safeguards should be in place when children report that they are not receiving food or are being harmed at home?
• Karreon was a child who depended on adults and public systems to recognize his needs and protect him. His case is a reminder that documenting a warning sign is not the same as ensuring a child is safe.

UNIMAGINABLE CRUELTY’: FATHER T0RTURES & SUFFOCATES 3,6 YEARS OLD DAUGHTERS & WIFE, Faces D£ath Penalty in Shocking Triple M*rder 💥
Official court documents and trial testimony in Miami-Dade County detail the legal proceedings surrounding 42-year-old Alberto Sierra, who pleaded guilty in August to the 2012 h0micides of 29-year-old Gladys Machado, 6-year-old Julia Padrino, and 3-year-old Daniela Padrino 🩸👇
🚨 INCIDENT DETAILS DETAILED IN COURT DOCUMENTS AND TESTIMONY
The Abduction & Transport: According to trial evidence and police affidavits, in November 2012, Sierra confronted Machado and her two young daughters at a shopping area before forcing them at kn🔪fe-point to return to a West Miami-Dade residence.
The H0micides: Court records indicate that Sierra confined Machado to a master bedroom and suffocated her using a plastic grocery bag while the children were present in the home. Sierra subsequently suffocated both young girls using plastic bags.
Post-Mortem Findings and Concealment: Investigators noted that Sierra s*xually assau|ted the victims post-mortem before placing their remains inside a closet, where they were discovered days later by first responders following reports of a foul odor.
💔 VICTIM TRIBUTES AND FAMILY IMPACT STATEMENT
Family members addressed the court during the penalty phase to share the enduring impact of the loss:
Courtroom Testimony: The biological father of the girls, Michael Padrino Sr., and the surviving son, Michael Padrino Jr.—who was five years old at the time of the incident and survived because he did not accompany the family to the mall—provided emotional victim impact statements during court proceedings.
Prosecution Arguments: State prosecutors emphasized the premeditated nature of the offenses, arguing that the evidence demonstrated heightened pr£meditation, t0rture, and severe crue|ty inflicted upon the victims inside the home.
⚖️ JURY RECOMMENDATION AND LEGAL STATUS
Following deliberations on October 20, 2026, the jury returned formal recommendations regarding capital punishment under Florida state law, which requires at least eight juror votes for a death recommendation:
Gladys Machado: The jury voted 11–1 in favor of recommending the d£ath penalty.
Julia Padrino (Age 6): The jury voted unanimously (12–0) in favor of recommending the d£ath penalty.
Daniela Padrino (Age 3): The jury voted 8–4 in favor of recommending the d£ath penalty.
Defense Arguments: The defense team urged a sentence of life imprisonment, presenting medical testimony regarding a childhood brain injury and a medical diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.
Upcoming Sentencing:Circuit Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez will hold a Spencer hearing and render the final sentencing determination on November 2, 2026.
Legal observers and community members continue to monitor the proceedings as the court prepares for the final sentencing hearing in Miami-Dade County. ⚖️📢
❓❔❓SURROUNDING THE CASE
• Will Circuit Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez uphold the jury's recommendations for capital punishment during the formal sentencing hearing on November 2?
• How will the court evaluate the defense's mitigating evidence regarding the defendant's childhood traumatic brain injury versus the aggravating factors presented by the state?
• What post-sentencing appeal timelines are established under Florida law for capital punishment cases?
The judicial system continues to finalize proceedings as the court prepares for the formal sentencing date. 🕊️🔒
