This is a normal guy’s review. Part 9. “The Finale”. It’s almost the holidays!

Only Chocky and Guy left, so how did this happen?

Susan is sitting with Hemingway! I had put those 2 together in my Golden Bachelor mind. Hah.
Joan’s walls are up again because Pascal didn’t love her. You have 2 other guys willing to walk through traffic blindfolded for you. Mr. Gorbachev, tear down Joan’s walls.
Poor Nancy. She doesn’t need all this. I swear Nancy really is gonna jump overboard with all this drama. Wait, is live Nancy watching taped Nancy in the left corner of my screen? I guess she didn’t jump. Maybe Joan really wanted Pascal? How could she feel unlovable? Joan says she has no confidence. She just got her 100,000th Instagram viewer! As Cher said in Moonstruck, “Snap out of it”.
Joan has no clue right now who or if she’s gonna choose someone. Her family is in Bora Bora! Ah, now there’s Mark in the corner of my screen and appropriately it’s the size of a post it note! The family is getting the low down. They hear there’s a Chock from Wichita Kansas. With that name and that location they probably picture a simple honest country man with good intentions. Little do they know that they’ll be buying a variable life annuity with different payout options. Ok, for those of you that had her husband mentioned by minute 14, you win. Oh Chock, he says if the kids don’t get along with him it could jeopardize everything that “I’ve done”. It should be what you and Joan have done together. Joan’s daughter talks as fast as Joan. I rewind twice and still have no idea what she just asked. Chock just kissed her within 10 seconds of meeting the kids. If he was a peacock his feathers would be in full plume showing that he’s the boss. Grill him Joan’s son, let’s see what Chock is all about! I like that Chock said he’s not here to replace your dad . Good Chock. The son is good with him so far. Joan needs acceptance from the son that this whole thing is okay. Didn’t they discuss all this before she left? Did she just tell the kids that she was going out for a pack of ci******es, and then leave for 2 months?
Joan and Chock have a nice 1 on 1 together. Ahhh Chock just proposed….living together in NYC. I’m just 20 miles outside. I can visit them! The mayor is under indictment and there’s a rat problem, but it truly is the city that never sleeps and it’s fantastic. Now he told her he wants to marry her. I like that she’s holding back saying I love you. Very classy. She’s doing just what I had said a few weeks ago, do everything the opposite of Gerry. Good for you Joan. Chock is dying for her to say she loves him. Not so fast killer.
Guy’s turn.
Oh no it’s pouring. Is it foreshadowing? I’m wondering why everyone is freaking out in the corner of my television. Then I realized apparently after everyone else, that Guy is about to have his heart crushed. Guy is laughing and having a ball. This will be cringier than Pascal’s face at the bonding ceremony. Before they sit down the vibes are palpable. Joan again being classy under these circumstances and letting him down as gently as possible. The Schindler’s list violin is a little bit too much. Guy had the whole day planned. I didn’t realize he’s thinking about meeting the kids, what he’s going to say, and getting on one knee. Then Kaboom! While this is a show with contestants competing, this isn’t the same as losing in Plinko on The Price is Right. Joan please don’t feel guilty. You handled it with dignity and I admire that.
Guy is live in the studio! Right after I see the Allstate mayhem guy crashing into cars. Whatever happened to simply the good hands people?
Guy said while it was heartbreaking he can bounce back from this. You bounce Guy! Where’s Nancy? Go get her. Now Joan comes out and Guy tells her he’s been waiting months for this moment. I’m sure Joan has not. Guy asked her what was missing. She tells him he was a slow burn. (I’ll look that up later). I guess she meant he went slowly. So today”s lesson I learned is that love on a tv show is under a ticking stopwatch. Chock went 100% quickly but I guess kind of had to. Guy finding out he went too slow will probably haunt him for a while. She wants to be friends and double date. I can hear Chock in the wings laughing at that one. Guy wanted to say one final thing, but Jesse shut him down faster than Joan.
Joan looks confident and sure that she wants to spend her life with Chock. She’s walking along the shore to another bonding area. This time without the sounds of a French accent freaking out. Chock is heading over. Why is he dangling the ring over the railing? He probably wrote himself up an insurance policy on the ring an hour earlier. As Ricki Lee Jones sang, Chockies In Love. He needs to hear she loves him. OK I liked him at first, then didn’t, then did, then didn’t. I like him again. It must be The Shawshank Redemption music that’s getting to me, where Morgan Freeman meets up with Tim Robbins on a beach? Probably.
It’s very windy. How is the audio so clear? Sorry, I think about quirky things here and there. He is completely declaring his love. Joan says she loves him! He proposes! She says yes! Cue the Disney music. Meanwhile Guy is in the studio probably looking for that lemon zester from his date and trying to cut his wrists.
Joan and Chock sit with Jesse. They learn that College football expanded their playoffs! How wonderful, said nobody. And their special trip is to….Disney World. Swell. lol. Yes it’s a reality show. Somewhat scripted. Edited and manipulated. I do feel like they fell in love with each other. I think there’s a chance for Joan and Chock to live happily ever after. However, I’m exhausted from these two. And that’s the way I see it. Until next season.
