This is a great TIP: One of the biggest mistakes people make with standing barbell curls is 'swinging' or using momentum to get the weight up when it may be too heavy to start with. To limit the issue, try leaning up against an incline bench (adjusted to a 90 degree angle or close to). Arms swinging too much still? Lean up against a wall to stop your elbows from traveling backwards.
