“when there is a love that meets you with Grace, don’t blink. you’ll miss the moments it’s come to bless with you with. the mission is to always lean as far into it as possible.

These last two weeks just seemed like yesterday. I’m moving into a new training mode. 😏

This sport called running that just so happens to reunite, challenge, and uplift. add that to a Community that breaks generational stigmas by sewing seeds across the city.

Running will always be about the people I meet along the journey. Alike passion and fire, but sometimes different backgrounds. And Juneteenth was a really great example of coming together for purpose and passion.

Looking forward to the future of running in the D.

This past year was the first time I’d ever ran more than 200 meters since high school. And I was not consistent at all. I’d run a mile, 2 or 3 every two weeks on a good day. But distance discouraged me.

I love running, sprints that is 🤣 and then suddenly life had its way and I forgot to run.

I had to make changes to my form, my perspective, and my tolerance.

The last two months I’ve worked to shave 4-6 minutes off my 5K time. Not to win, one of these days yeah, but to remind my body who is in charge of it. Distance sucked at first and it came at the most random, difficult time in my life. I just wanted a smoothie— maybe I’ll share that story with you some other time.

Starting distance in the past year has reminded me that I am not a slave to my circumstances.

…talking accountability partners. Even if they don’t know, they inspire me to keep doing something that actually never gets easier. Thanks .suis.loren for being a familiar face I could lean on when I was done. Thanks .hope.fisher for believing in me, your positivity is unmatched. Thanks for the knowledge and letting me ‘set the pace’ after🤣 thanks everyone at who encourage without speaking. Thank you for a great and cheerful race. Thank you Melody (not pictured) for running me down at the sidelines when you saw me near the finish and screaming at me, “YOU BETTER GO. KEEP GOING SHADARIAN.” That meant a lot. I didn’t even know you were there today until that moment.

My next 5K I want to run a personal best of 24 mins.

From April 23rd ♥️ for short, was about recreating our relationships to our bodies. Training the brain to reconnect to the primary function of the muscles through such simple, but effective movement.

The truest governance of our bodies begins with knowledge of its inner workings.

News will be here shortly about the next one. I’m praying about how God wants me to show up in the next extended class.

Thanks for trusting me to be the vessel that gets this knowledge to you in practical ways.

Side note: if you were present, you’ll have the link soon to these downloadable images. See you at the next one 🧡

I wasn’t much of a fan of

group photos, photos of classes, and events. For the longest time I applauded the preservation of vulnerable spaces and felt those attending should have privacy they deserve. I still feel this way 🙃

Group photos though, have grown on me significantly. It’s become one of my favorite parts of these recent events.

They’re beautiful memories for not just us teaching, but those who’ve experienced shared healing in these spaces.

Its so special to be able to look at a still image of individuals who’ve come from different circumstances, gathered for one reason.

It’s still sacred to me, don’t think my itch about it will change, hahaha.

However, seeing positively impacted lives through smiles reminds me to share what I know with many more.

I opened up THREE more slots for Sunday—Journaling and Movement: Intro to autonomy. 3:00pm-4:30pm. I really want to see you there. If you have any questions, I’m here 🧡

There is an important detail about yoga

that you must know, especially if never done it.

It’s about surrendering.

‘Surrender’ means to TRADE IN our fears, our anxieties, our conditioning, our insecurities, doubts, things that have happened to us that live within our tissues, etc., to LEARN a better heart posture.

Surrendering means to be OPENED to re-conditioning, to unlearn biases about ourselves, about others, and flee from temptations that take us back to where we once were.

It’s letting go of our own selfish attempts to control for the outcome of relinquishing trust to get back up after defeat.

Much of this surrender is found in being present with the physical body and finding humility in that space. It takes a lot of vulnerability to do so.

The physical body wants us to create opportunities for self-inquiry to leave our old ways and be made better versions of we already are called to be.

I’m Having an EXTENDED CLASS called Journaling and Movement: Intro to Autonomy this Sunday at this location you see in these photos. Would love if you joined me. Link in my bio ✨

Yet another weekly post. I’ve been enjoying these kinds of posts.

There’s a mixture of my love for photography, aesthetic, friendship (not seen today), yoga/running, etc., there’s so much solace for me when I’m doing these things. I’m grateful for the privilege of ability. ✨

To mention, doing it in Detroit feels special. This is a city I was born in.

I’ve seen everything from crime in my driveway to the new infrastructure of the city grow. It’s weird when you didn’t grow up seeing this stuff in it 🤣 but I’m enlightened to walk my feet on its pavement with so many memories good and bad, and create new ones with what’s happening now. It’s necessary

I remember when…

I was so deep in a pit because I believed something was inherently wrong with me due to the lack of stability in my upbringing.

It caused me to tend relationships that didn’t need tending, pursue things that didn’t need pursuing,

say things I didn’t truly align with all to feel valued.

But the thing about the way I was created… I’m an heir to these gifts. They aren’t mine, but I’m an heir to them because they’re from God. And if that’s true for me. It’s true for you, too because you were created no better or worse than me or your neighbor.

🌎 if you agree.
