In a live demonstration, Dr. Max Brookman, Oklahoma Children’s OU Health pediatric emergency medicine physician, emphasized the importance of learning and confidently performing CPR. He explained how to quickly check for responsiveness and a pulse, and stressed the importance of deep, continuous chest compressions until help arrives.
Dr. Brookman encourages bystanders to act without hesitation, noting that CPR can double or triple survival chances and must begin within minutes to prevent brain injury.

It took teamwork to keep him alive! ❤️
In rural Minnesota, a man collapsed in a grocery store due to a heart attack. Bystanders recognized the emergency. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated immediately. Multiple individuals participated in the effort. They organized into a rotation to maintain consistent compressions. The CPR continued for over 90 minutes. Participants switched in and out to avoid fatigue. Emergency medical services arrived after the extended effort. The man was transported for further treatment. He survived following the incident. A coordinated rotation of bystanders maintained CPR over an extended period until professional responders arrived.
