Your body is ancient.
Before fear.
Before monitors.
Before hospital walls.
Before anyone told women they couldn’t trust themselves.
Your body already knew birth.
It carries the wisdom of every mother who came before you.
Generations of women breathed through contractions, instinctively swayed their hips, sought quiet, sought safety, and brought babies into the world with bodies that knew exactly what to do.
That same wisdom lives inside you.
No, birth isn’t always predictable. Sometimes intervention is needed, and thank goodness we have it when it is.
But somewhere along the way, we’ve forgotten that birth is not something your body has to be taught.
It is something your body remembers.
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
You are not designed wrong.
You were born from an unbroken line of women whose bodies carried life long before modern medicine existed.
Your body is ancient.
It is intelligent.
It is capable.
And it deserves your trust.

Before I ever took my first breath, the tiny egg that would one day become me already existed. Years later, as I carried my daughter beneath my heart, she carried within her the tiny beginnings of the generations that may one day follow.
There is something profoundly sacred about the way motherhood weaves generations together.
As a doula, I never stop marveling at the wisdom woven into creation.
Before I was born, the tiny egg that would one day become me had already begun its journey. Then, when I carried my daughter, her tiny ovaries formed the eggs she may one day carry into motherhood herself.
In the span of just two pregnancies, four generations became beautifully connected—my mother, me, my daughter, and the children who may one day call me Grandma.
To me, this is a reminder that birth is never just about one moment. It is part of a story that stretches across generations. Every mother carries more than a baby; she carries love, hope, legacy, and the quiet miracle of life itself.✨
