‎PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

‎June 7, 2026

‎MONROVIA, LIBERIA – TEAM SHERIFF FINED LD$6,000 FOR FAILURE TO HONOR SCHEDULED KICKBALL MATCH

‎The Sports and Entertainment Committee of the Cabila Tournament wishes to inform the public that on today, June 7, 2026, Team Sheriff failed to honor its scheduled group-stage kickball match against Team Fakolee without providing any valid or justifiable reason.

‎The Committee views this action as a direct violation of the principles of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect upon which the Cabila Tournament is built. Such conduct not only disrupts the smooth operation of the competition but also undermines the spirit of unity, fairness, and healthy competition that the tournament seeks to promote.

‎Consequently, in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the tournament, Team Sheriff has been fined LD$6,000. The fine must be paid in full before the team's boys' next fixture. Failure to comply with this directive will result in further disciplinary actions as deemed appropriate by the Committee.

‎The Sports and Entertainment Committee remains committed to preserving the integrity, credibility, and beauty of the Cabila Tournament. We therefore reaffirm that any individual, team, or family found engaging in actions that bring the tournament into disrepute will be held accountable.

‎We urge all participating teams and families to continue demonstrating respect, cooperation, and commitment to the values that make the Cabila Tournament a unique and cherished community event.

‎Signed,
‎Tidanky Trawally
General Secretary
