The biggest mistakes bridal MUAs make in their inquiry process and how to fix them.
Mistake 1: Youâre using email or DM to book.
You have an Instagram highlight with all the information a bride needs to inquire with you. But hereâs what that actually looks like on her end - she has to find your email or hope your DMs are open so her message actually reaches your inbox. Then she has to dig through your highlights and make sure every single piece of information youâre asking for is included, and sheâs probably missing half of it. And if sheâs emailing you? Sheâs hoping and praying it doesnât go to spam.
That is so much work before sheâs even heard back from you. Your inquiry process should be easy. If itâs not easy, sheâs moving on to someone whoâs is.
Mistake 2: Your prices arenât listed anywhere.
Be transparent. Be upfront. When brides canât find your prices, they either assume youâre out of budget and donât reach out - or they inquire and then ask for a discount when they find out. Thatâs how you end up hearing âyouâre too expensive.â
If you have a great client experience and youâre talented at what you do, charge your worth sis. You wonât be âtoo muchâ for the right clients. The right brides arenât shopping for the cheapest artist - theyâre shopping for the one they trust most. Make sure your prices are on your website, your Instagram, and your inquiry form. No exceptions.
Mistake 3: You donât have a proper inquiry form.
