Melissa Mooney-Lopez AKA Mel
Yoga Teacher, Wellness Guide, Mother & Wife
Melissa began practicing yoga over a decade ago. Yoga’s ability to heal became abundantly clear to Melissa after years of living with the painful effects of multiple sports related injuries. She found yoga to be the only therapy to give her true physical and mental relief. It became obvious her path was to share this message

It’s been so much fun getting to know the team at ☕️ Pink Cloud Coffee.💕☕️💕
A rare moment w/ jȏ ʟȏƿєẓ ƿһȏṭȏɢяѧƿһʏ home and I took him with me to learn more about their process, grab a few bags for our house, and spend some time hanging out with the GREAT people behind the brand.
And let me tell you… this coffee is officially Be Well Mel approved. 🤍
As someone who cares deeply about what goes into my body, I appreciate that Pink Cloud Coffee is certified organic, fair trade, ethically sourced, and third-party tested to be mold-free. They roast in small batches right here in Middle Tennessee, creating a coffee that tastes incredible while maintaining high standards for quality and sourcing. 👍
But what really won me over is their mission.
Pink Cloud Coffee was founded by people in recovery with a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves a second chance. Every bag purchased helps support addiction recovery programs and provides hope to people working to rebuild their lives. Their motto is “Saving Lives, One Cup at a Time,” and they are living that mission every day.
As the daughter of an addict who didn’t make it, this one hits close to home.
Addiction touches so many families. I know firsthand the heartbreak, the confusion, and the grief it leaves behind. That’s why it means so much to support a company that is helping people find recovery, healing, and community—one cup at a time. 🤍
Good coffee.
Good people.
A beautiful mission.
You’ll be able to meet the Pink Cloud team and grab a cup at Yoga in the Park this Sunday. 🌳☕️✨ check them out Pink Cloud Coffee

☀️ Word of the Day: YET
My Father had a lot of phrases he used to lean on - one of which was:
“ don’t quit before the miracle happens”
And for me, I can look back and say the times that I was most frustrated and ready to throw in the towel, were the sweet pressure spots catapulting me on the next level.
So today I’m leaning on YET!!!
B/C
How often do we tell ourselves stories like…
❌ “I’m not strong enough.”
❌ “I’m not where I want to be.”
❌ “I can’t do that.”
❌ “I’m not ready.”
What if we added one simple word?
✨ YET.
“I’m not there… yet.”
“I haven’t figured it out… yet.”
“I’m not as confident as I want to be… yet.”
That tiny three-letter word creates space for growth, possibility, and self-compassion. It reminds us that where we are today is not where we have to stay.
Progress isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s showing up one more time. Taking one more step. Trusting yourself one more day.
So fill in the blanks:
💭 I haven’t __________ YET.
💭 And I will be __________ when I do!
Drop your answer below and let’s celebrate what’s possible. 🌱
Live. Eat. Think. Be Well.

People ask me all the time:
“Why do you care so much? Why do you put so many hours into this?”
The answer is simple.
Yoga saved my life.
And stories like mine!
That’s why we all put in the work for this Day!
More than 20 years ago, I was living in a fast-paced, high-pressure world that left me exhausted, disconnected, and running on empty. I hadn’t yet faced the trauma I was carrying, but I knew something was missing.
Then I found yoga.
Or maybe it found me.
It gave me a way to quiet the noise, reconnect with myself, and find solid ground again.
Years later, when a fairytale marriage-to-be crumbled almost overnight, it was yoga, nature, and community that carried me through. They reminded me that even in heartbreak, I was still whole.
Somewhere along the way, a quiet whisper arrived:
“Your job is to share this with every person you meet.”
And so I have.
For nearly two decades I’ve taught, coached, led retreats, hosted events, and welcomed people into this practice—not because yoga fixes everything, but because I’ve witnessed what happens when people slow down long enough to hear themselves again.
That’s why Yoga in the Park matters so much to me.
In a world that feels increasingly disconnected, I believe the medicine is simple:
Nature. Movement. Breath. Community. Connection.
Because someone may show up on June 21 needing exactly what yoga, nature, and community once gave me.
And if that happens, every sleepless night and every hour spent planning will be worth it.
We’re honored to share this day with you. We hope you’ll join us. 🙏🧘♀️
Inspired by the collective wisdom and connection shared throughout the Extracting Genius experience, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to guide others back to themselves through the practices of yoga and connection with nature.
I also left feeling empowered thanks to Stinson and the invitation to transform pain into purpose for the collective.
Through a powerful exercise, we walked, talked, and gave voice to a scared, sad, lonely, misunderstood, abandoned, rage-filled, and hopeless little girl who spent years simply wanting to be seen, heard, and loved.
The loss of my mother when I needed her most, growing up with parents navigating mental health challenges, financial insecurity, bullying, and a severe eating disorder became mountains I was forced to climb. For many years, those experiences felt like burdens. Today, I recognize they were also gifts—lessons that allow me to meet others in their pain with compassion, understanding, and hope.
Thankfully, yoga brought me home to myself. It helped me reconnect with the truth of who I am beneath the wounds, stories, and survival patterns. It taught me that healing is possible.
Part of my purpose is to help others do the same—to create space for people to pause, reconnect with their hearts, remember their worth, and discover that they are never alone on the journey.
Thank you to all of you that showed up and to the ultimate mama bear -
With gratitude,
Mel
