Quiet Pages is a monthly, evening gathering for women to take a breather at the end of the day, move the pen on the page, and nurture your journaling practice.

June invites us to tap into those succulent summer memories – running barefoot in the grass, toes in the sand, warm air at dusk, ice cream down your chin, chasing fireflies . . .

We’ll gather in a supportive circle, follow a few prompts, and see where it leads us – which is often in unexpected and delightful ways.

We had a wonderful gathering with the horses for women without their mothers in their lives. That thread continues with a writing gathering at Sophia's Center for the Healing Arts in Nashville Thursday, May 14, at 6 pm (no horses present, but horse wisdom may find its way in!).

Join us for writing, discussion, and a good dose of comfort and joy. No judgement, no worries, just come as you are, and share as much or as little as you'd like.

On Saturday, May 9, we held our Creative Connections with Horses for Women Without Mothers. It was a special gathering that invited women who have experienced their own type of loss or absence of a mother in their lives.

We were able to share stories and engage with the horses for some heartfelt connection, plus writing, and co-creation with the horse. Each art piece marked by a swish of the tail and finished with the touch of each woman's creative expression from their own experiences. It was an opportunity to honor our mothers, ourselves, and the horses. And, a reminder that Mother Nature is here to protect and heal.

At the end, the group gathered to watch the horses return to their paddock. After a bite of hay, the horses left the paddock, cantering down the hill, and as if grief was lifted and released into the air behind them, landed at their favorite spot by the river to rest and graze.

We are so grateful for this group coming out, for the support, connection, joy, some peace in our hearts, and of course, for the wonderful herd of horses.

I planted flowers this weekend…after saying goodbye to our 15-year-old cat. It’s been a week of joy and sorrow bundled together, a circle of endings and beginnings.

A little reminder that we need time and space for ourselves, to find joy, to reflect, to just be. This is what our gatherings offer with horses, writing, and artmaking.

Our next Creative Connections with Horses + Art is coming up SATURDAY. MAY 16.

Saturday was a beautiful day to come together with the horses and creativity. We’re grateful to those who came out to connect with the horses and others and enjoy the calm energy of the horses. It was fun to see what creativity evolved, and especially fun to paint with the horse’s tails and see what emerges!
