Alright MUAs let’s be for real!

Sometimes as MUAs we can find ourselves uninspired, unmotivated and completely discouraged. This is largely due to the dreaded seasonal slump that many in the beauty industry face on top of the fact that life is just LIFE-ING HARD for most of us in our personal lives.

I don’t know about y’all, but with so much coming up against me at once, on top of dealing with the slow season and people seeking MY services telling ME how much they’re not going to pay for MY services, sometimes it can effect MY work. For instance, with this look: I have love/hate feeling about it. I hate the complexion in this look, I messed up the eyes moving fast (was not like that during color matching, but I know what happened 🙄) Because my head is clouded with so many things. I missed some of my normal steps, made other many mistakes during this application process that I normally wouldn’t make for a paying customer.

This was a content session, that didn’t go the way I originally planned. But guess what?! I decided to post it anyway! Here’s why…
✨ I honestly just needed to create something to get myself out of the depressive, unmotivated state of mind.
✨ It helps make me a better artist.
✨ It helps me to see my mistakes and fix it them
✨ It helps me to document my growth as an artist.
✨ It’s shows me where I need more practice.
✨ It shows my resilience & perseverance during the downs in my journey as a MUA.
✨ And truthfully it helps me to build up my confidence.

However, if you’re a MUA facing burnout, my advice would be to TAKE A BREAK, if you can afford to do so! Even if only for a day, because you don’t want your problems to negatively translate into your work as an artist.

But if your just feeling unmotivated, and you choose to create, post it anyway. You never know who’s paying attention.
