Got some "Hilfiger" in the house. This scent is amongst my wife's absolute favorites on me, so having it as a shave set is epic. I smell great all day after using this, and that Wagyu is fire. First Line Shave knocked it clear out of the park and then it kept going out of town.
Love this RazoRock - ItalianBarber.com Hawk V2 razor as well. I keep forgetting to scoop up the other colors. Hope y'all have a great Tuesday.

I made a video in which I decided to try out shaving with an artisan small-batch tallow-based soap bar. I know these videos have been done to death, but I've always wanted to try, plus I showcase my unique approach for pucks and shave soap bars. Thank you to Justin over at Bombshell Suds Co. for the idea!

I decided to use "The Dude", a wonderful fragrance based on a great movie. I paired it with Avon's "Wild Country" aftershave splash, a masculine Fougère that adds some green and musk to the overall scent.

I've seen this set used once or twice this past week along with some other coffee ones, so this set was stubbornly lingering in the back of my mind. Its unique profile makes it one of my favorite coffee-forward soaps, and it has the distinction of being the first Soap Palooza set I tried (thanks again, Bary). David Jay Young truly makes some works of art.
I also got to try out a balm called Lemon And Blueberry Soufflé from Dutch Barn Soap Company. I've had this stuff for quite a while but was waiting to pair it with the perfect set. The tangy note it adds was a fantastic way to end this shave, and my face feels incredible. They are a New Jersey-based artisan and they offer a lot of stuff at their shop. Go check them out!

I knew I'd be taking a risk blind-buying a leather-forward scent (although admittedly, I think leather has been growing on me somewhat), but Barrister And Mann is Barrister And Mann. "Ubrique" is leathery, but not entirely. Instead, it's like it's wrapped around a woody and green element that, to my nose, is the dominant set of notes. The Tonka tones all of it down a bit, which I love. This is an overall great fragrance that I enjoyed a lot more than expected. I got to try out my Russian razor for the first time, too. Pretty aggressive, lol. Good shave, though. Have a great weekend!

Boy, was this set different than expected. That sounds like a bad start, but it's not. For some reason, I had thought the myriad of fruit notes would coalesce into one big fruit accord, then the florals would kick in and add some green. Instead, I get just about every single fruit note listed and the floral notes are simply along for the ride, and it's glorious. Think Juicy Fruit wrapped in a Fruit Roll-Up and then doused with Hawaiian Punch. I personally feel thegoodfellasmile is vastly underused in the States. They have such a dynamic array of fragrances that I'm always blown away, and each one is a blind buy because I know the odds of me liking it are pretty much 100%. Now, their bar soap is a first. This stuff lathers like crazy, and you could damn near shave with it alone. I'll be using it as a face wash.
Now for the "Dominus": I'm in love. This razor it exactly my forté: Heavy (100.8 grams!), on the longer side (95mm or 3.75in) and smooth. The plate and cap assemble in a very unique way. It is a chrone-plated brass work of art that gave me a fantastic shave. I used a Treet Platinum blade.

In this History Shave video, I use "The Blueberry Aviator" from The Razor Emporium and I talk about a WWII hero named Alan Magee who survived an incredible feat. This soap is excellent. The scent is right up my alley AND it's a definite year-rounder for me. The soap offers the scent notes in order, yet the splash offers them inverted, which is superb. Great shave!
