Houston Native Launches LAMIK, First Black Owned Clean Makeup Line In Ulta Beauty LAMIK, which is an acronym for Love and Makeup In Kindness, makes sure that black women are getting nontoxic makeup!

So, life has been "life-ing" these past few months. I moved from San Antonio to Houston about 3 months ago. While I am happy about starting my new chapter in Houston, I have essentially closed my business (for now) because I am starting over. I will be rebranding and opening up to serve the Houston area! Thank you to all of my San Antonio clients for your support. I am very excited for the future and where my esthetican career will take me. Stay tuned!

Recently, I had the honor of speaking to middle school and high school girls with the Keeta's Place mentorship organization about skin health. I gave skincare tips and the girls asked questions about having a skincare regimen. I enjoyed speaking with these young ladies and providing them with the knowledge of how to take care of their skin. You are never too young to begin good skincare practices! Mentorship is VERY important in our communities and I'm glad I could play a role. Thank you Lakeeta Williams and Keeta's Place for the opportunity and for all you do for our girls!

Charis is a licensed esthetician and makeup artist in San Antonio,
TX. A native of Greenville, Mississippi, Charis earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism at Tougaloo College in 2002 in Jackson, Mississippi.

After careers in administration and banking, Charis decided to pursue her lifelong dream of working in the beauty industry. She is a self-proclaimed “girly girl” and has always been interested in makeup and skincare from an early age. In June 2017, Charis enrolled in the esthetics program at Arkansas Beauty School in Little Rock, Arkansas. She completed the program in October 2017.

Charis has been a licensed esthetician in the state of Texas since July 2018. Since becoming licensed, she has worked for Flawless Spa Retreat of Distinction as an esthetician and makeup artist.

Charis recently opened her own business called Charis Stafford Beauty!!! Her specialty includes aging skin and clearing hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Her experience and training in the esthetics field include numerous skin and chemical peel classes under JoElle Lee who was the esthetician to former First Lady Michelle Obama, makeup artist training under Zsanee “Zsa Zsa”
Harris who is the makeup artist for pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts, and body wax training with Kristin Estelle, owner and esthetician of Olori Spa in Houston, TX. Charis has also been interviewed by Voyage San Antonio, a local magazine that profiles local small businesses in the San Antonio area.

Charis loves to also give back to her community. She is an active member of the award-winning Alpha Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she is currently the secretary of the chapter and co-chair of the Public Relations committee so she knows all about SISTERHOOD and how important it is.
