I make nail polish for a living.
I have 38 formulas. Thirty. Eight.
I made a new one anyway because nothing I had was quite the right red for this bag.
This is both a personality trait and, accidentally, a business model.

Went alone. Dressed up anyway.
Made the red before I left because the fit demanded it — houndstooth, wild leggings, a skull-and-crossbones cardigan I used to wear to corporate meetings. Someone asked about it today. I said "Corporate Goth." This felt correct.
Going alone to things is genuinely underrated. You move at your own pace, talk to whoever you want, leave when you're ready. Nobody's waiting on you to decide anything.
Houston was chill. Strangers were kind. I got a full-look compliment from someone I'd never met and I'm choosing to read that as the universe endorsing my life choices.
The red is a one-off. The cardigan is eternal.
