Today’s SHiNE Dance Fitness song of the week was “Lemonade,” and and showed up a little early so we could have some fun together before class. 💛

I love that they said yes to a little extra dancing and laughter. These are the moments that make our community so special.

Movement has a way of giving us our energy back. Not just physically, but mentally too.

I hope you find a little time this weekend to do something that fills your cup and leaves you feeling more like yourself.

Happy Friday! 💛

Sometimes we decide something isn’t for us before we’ve really given ourselves a chance to get past the awkward stage.

That doesn’t mean we have to force ourselves to love every new hobby, sport, or activity. But it does make me wonder how many things we give up on before we’ve given ourselves a fair chance to improve.

I’m not sure whether pickleball will become “my thing.”

That’s exactly why I signed up for a six-week beginner series instead of making a decision after one class.

At the end of six weeks, I’ll know one way or the other.

Have you ever stuck with something long enough to completely change your mind about it?

Or did you discover it really wasn’t for you?

I’d love to hear your story.

Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing movement had to become smaller, slower and more cautious.

Sometimes that’s exactly what our bodies need.

But not always.

If your body is healthy enough to move with quickness, agility, coordination, and a little power, don’t be too quick to leave those qualities behind.

They deserve a place in your life too.

Because life still asks us to react.
To change direction.
To catch ourselves.
To move with confidence instead of hesitation.

Our bodies keep responding when we keep asking something of them.

We spend so much time thinking about strength as something we build.

I think it’s just as important to think about what it gives back.

The freedom to say yes.

Yes to the hike.

Yes to carrying your own suitcase.

Yes to getting down on the floor and back up again.

Yes to dancing a little longer.

Yes to trying something new without wondering if your body can handle it.

That’s the kind of strength I’m training for.

Not because I want to impress anyone.

Because I want my body to keep opening doors instead of closing them.

This is what taking care of yourself looks like at the end of a long week.

Some weeks ask a lot of you.

By Friday you’ve given most of what you had - to work, to family, to everything and everyone that needed you.

This is the part where you give a little back to yourself.

Not because you have to. Not because you’re chasing a goal. Just because you deserve to end the week feeling better than you started it.

That’s what we do here every Friday. SHiNE Dance Fitness song of the week “She Did It Again”.

Happy Friday. You made it.🤗

Most of us spend far more time thinking about who’s watching us than realizing who we might be encouraging.

This story happened because one of my members, , simply decided to keep the promise she’d made to herself.

She wasn’t trying to inspire anyone.

She was just doing her workout.

Sometimes that’s exactly how inspiration works.

Not because we tell people what to do…

But because we quietly show them what’s possible.

I’d love to know…

Has someone ever inspired you without even realizing

I’ve said this to my students more times than I can count because I’ve lived it myself.

Walking in the door or pressing play is usually harder than the workout.

We can spend more time mentally negotiating with ourselves than it does to simply begin.

The negotiation is exhausting in its own way.

Once you get through the first few minutes, you stop thinking about whether you felt like it.

You’re just moving.

Maybe motivation was never supposed to come first.💛

It was to carry that strength into everything else.
The stairs. The hike. The moment someone needs you and you’re ready. The years ahead that you’re quietly training for right now.

This is what functional full body training looks like. Upper and lower body working together, movement patterns that mirror real life, everything integrated and intentional.

Not isolated. Not just aesthetic. Built to transfer.

That’s the kind of strong worth training for.
